The Next Evolution of Sit & Go Poker Tournaments
Read about the Next Evolution of Sit & Go Poker Tournaments at America's Cardroom. They now have Sit & Go 2.0 available for your enjoyment.
Sit & Go games are an ultimate favorite for players that are fairly new to poker. You’ll find a game that matches your budget all the time, they are not exhausting as multi-table tournaments and they start when few players gather at the table.
Because of this, you tend to see more recreational players in Sit & Go tournaments thus making them a nice environment for learning the game. Any live or online poker company knows that making this game fun has its rewards, so you’ll see companies like PokerStars introducing a game like Spin and Go’s and more recently Americas Cardroom with their new game Sit & Go 2.0!
What players like about Sit & Go tournaments
- There’s no waiting, once you have a full table they just go!
- Their excellent practice for either learning the game or learning a new style like Omaha
- If you don’t have too much time to play these are perfect for you
- Variety of buy-ins, game speed, game types will be found everywhere
A standard Sit & Go can be simplified in 3 different phases, the early phase, middle phase and late phase. In the first one, players usually play very cautious and try to get to know their opponents at the table. Your best move is to preserve your chips, stay away from trouble and play your monster hands to get the most value.
In the middle phase is where you’ll begin to see antes, the average stack will probably be around 20 big blinds. This is the time where stealing chips becomes a big advantage and will help you build a stack without seeing any showdowns.
The late phase will begin when you are on the bubble and then in the money. A good strategy will help you cash in big and even win the tournament. You will hardly be able to enter a hand to fold later in this phase, always remember that if you are going in you are probably going to end up all-in.
Sit & Go 2.0 online launching in 2017
2016 was a year where Sit & Goes saw a few new games introduced into the live and online poker industry. Very recently, Americas Cardroom introduced what they call the next evolution of Sit & Go tournaments with an interesting twist to the traditional game.
The difference between a traditional Sit & Go and Sit & Go 2.0 is a pre-game that takes place before the start of the tournament creating opportunities for bigger prize pools and more players paid, each and every game.
In November of 2016 the game was played during the Punta Cana Poker Classic for the first time ever in a live environment. In a few weeks’ time, the game will be launched online at Americas Cardroom for the first time also.
There’s been a lot of expectation and a lot of different efforts to teach the community how to play the game. From videos on YouTube, to twitch sessions with online poker pros, to editorials with strategy tips about the game. The world is watching as a new game develops and it is patiently waiting for this new game that promises tons of fun and cash rewards.
