A round of 32 matchup is next up on the list for the USC Trojans and the Baylor Bears. These two will meet up on Sunday for a shot to play in the Sweet 16. This will be the first time these two teams have ever played each other in NCAA College Basketball.

USC Have Momentum On Their Side

USC has won back to back games in the NCAA Tournament and have momentum on their side. They opened up the NCAA Tournament by playing in the “First Four” game to get into the tournament. In the “First Four” game, they got revenge from last year and defeated Providence by the score 75-71. In their second game, which was the first round, they defeated the red hot SMU Mustangs by one point 66-65. In both of those games, they were trailing in the second half but came from behind to get the win.

The Trojans are now 26-9 SU and 18-16 ATS. They are coming into form at the right time as they have won 5 out of their last 6 SU and ATS.

Baylor Deep Off The Bench!

Over the past 2 years, the Baylor Bears have lost their opening game and were eliminated in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament. This year, they set a goal to finally get past the 1st round and shake the black cloud hanging over their heads. They started out the first half of their game against New Mexico State sluggish and at halftime, it appeared they could be headed for a 3rd straight elimination as they were down by 2 points at halftime. They turned their second half around with the help of their bench, and they not only shook off the black cloud but they looked very impressive in doing so in the second half!

Baylor comes into this game off a dominating second half performance over the New Mexico State Aggies by the score of 91-73 in round 1 of the NCAA Tournament. The Aggies had the 57th ranked defense in the NCAA and the Bears had no trouble controlling every aspect of the game and scoring 91 points on the potent defense.

The Bears are tough on defense with the #17 ranked defense in the NCAA and they are deep off the bench! In their last game against the Aggies, their leading scorer was Al Freeman, who came off the bench to lead all scorers with 21 points.
Baylor Headed To Sweet 16 and Madison Square Garden!

The Baylor Bears started the year 20-1 and were once ranked #1 in the polls. People are forgetting that at one point, they were looked at as one of the top teams in the NCAA. Hard times and some bad luck caused the Bears to fall into a slump at the end of the year. In that last game, they really looked good and appeared to have their defensive swagger back. I think their success continues and they roll over USC!
