The College Basketball season is so close we can smell it. NCAA Basketball is one of my favorite seasons, and it always seems to please. The elite programs in the country are once again going to be the elite programs in the country. But, who is going to take down the crown when the end of March arrives in College Basketball? Let’s take a look at the Early Projections, Odds and Picks for the 2018 College Basketball Championship.
Duke Blue Devils +600
Coach K has another loaded recruiting class, and has some big time experience coming back with the return of Grayson Allen. Duke will love what they see out of super freshman Trevon Duval. Do not be surprised if you see the Blue Devils cutting down the nets a season after their biggest rival North Carolina got the job done.
Michigan State Spartans +700
Miles Bridges is likely going to be the favorite to win the College Basketball National Player of the Year. The Spartans got a massive boost when he decided to return to East Lansing. Tom Izzo has a talented team, and the Big Ten is going to be a good challenge for Sparty.
Kentucky Wildcats +800
John Calipari grabbed Kevin Knox late in the recruiting season, and he is going to be a pretty solid basketball player. Kentucky is always around the top when you talk about teams competing for a national title. Look for Kentucky to play tough, and be a crazy athletic team heading into 2017 – 2018.
Arizona Wildcats +1000
Allonzo Trier, Rawle Alkins and Dusan Ristic are all back for Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats. What a disappointing end to the season last year for Arizona, so there will be some hungry Wildcats in Tucson. Big favorites in the Pac-12 conference should be ready to roll once March Madness arrives.
North Carolina Tar Heels +1200
Roy Williams will need to earn his paycheck at the start of this season, as four out of the top five scorers from a season ago are gone from the national title winners. North Carolina will always be in the picture, but it’s going to be quite the challenge for the Tar Heels to get back to the 2017 form.
Kansas Jayhawks +1400
Bill Self lost Frank Mason and Josh Jackson, but they have some pretty talented cats returning. The Jayhawks will likely completely own the Big-12, but the knack for this program has been their inability to win big games in March. Kansas is listed at +1400 to win the 2017 – 2018 National title.
Louisville Cardinals +1600
The Cardinals are Donovan Mitchell leaving the program away from likely being the top ranked team at the start of the season. Have no fear though – Rick Pitino is going to have plenty of talent to work with. Can the Cardinals survive the ACC grind without any major injuries and plenty of morale to playy solid basketball in March?
Wichita State Shockers +2000
The Shockers are now members of the American Athletic Conference, where they have instantly become the favorites to win. Gregg Marshall has nearly everyone back from his team that won 31 games a season ago. Landry Shamet is going to be an absolute stud, and likely the favorite to win Player of the Year in the conference.
Missouri Tigers +2000
You want to talk about bursting on the scene? Holy cow, the Missouri Tigers are going to be relevant this season, and could walk away with a season title. First things first – the Tigers are going to have to compete in the SEC with the likes of Kentucky and Florida. Missouri is listed at +2000 to win the national title.
There is a look at the Early Projections, Odds and Picks for the 2018 College Basketball Championship. We hope you have a great College Basketball season. Get your future bets in early, and keep doing your homework, so you can take down the books when it comes to the NCAA Basketball season. Best of luck!
