Indiana Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers are sitting in 3rd place in the BIG TEN Conference, with a record of 12-3 SU.  They have gone 6-8 ATS on the season and have played 10 of their 14 lined games under the posted total.

They have really been a story of two teams.  The team that has played on the road, has been unstoppable.  They are 10-0 with home wins against Northwestern, Louisville, and Illinois but they are also 1-3 on the road, with losses against Duke, Arkansas, and Michigan.

The Hoosiers have the 39th ranked defense in Division I and are allowing just 64.7 points per game.  They have been a strong defensive team and the offense really isn’t bad either. The offense is scoring 77.5 points per game and is led by Guard Romeo Langford.

Langford is averaging 18.2 points per game and is shooting .508 from the floor. Langford’s running mate is Juwan Morgan, who has been an unstoppable force in the paint. Morgan is averaging 16.7 points per game and is shooting a high percentage of .639 from the floor.

Maryland Terrapins

The Maryland Terrapins have been a very confusing team to handicap. On paper, they are 13-3 SU and 8-7-1 ATS but when you look at their 3 losses, it's a little more telling of the quality of teams they have faced.

The Terps 3 losses came to Virginia, Purdue and Seton Hall by a combined 11 points.  They have wins over the likes of Minnesota, Rutgers, Nebraska, Penn State and Marshall.

The Terps are able to score from pretty much anywhere on the court. They have one of the top Guards and one of the most dominant big men in the BIG TEN Conference.  Anthony Cowan runs the point guard position and is averaging 17.2 points per game. Cowan leads the team in assists and feeds those around him each night with the ball.

One of those guys he feeds the ball to is Bruno Fernando.  Fernando is averaging 14.2 points per game and is shooting .664 from the floor. Fernando is the team's top rebounder, averaging 10.1 rebounds per game and is also averaging 2.3 blocks per game.

Terps Pick Up Win And Cover

The home team in this matchup has won in 9 of the last 10 matchups SU and 8 of 10 ATS.  That leads us to lean immediately to the Terps. The thing that stands out in this game that also makes us like the Terps is the fact that they have won 4 straight SU and 3 of 4 ATS.

The Terps offense has really turned it up lately and forcing teams to play high scoring affairs, including the last 6 which have all played over the posted total. We like the Terps and look for them to win a close battle at home against the Hoosiers! Buy the half point and roll with Maryland -4 for 2 units.
