The Arkansas Razorbacks and Ole Miss Rebels features two teams that have shown early in the season that they are here to compete. Arkansas is coming off one of the most controversial losses of the year to Auburn, while Ole Miss is coming off a highly competitive game against Alabama. Last year, the two teams squared off in Mississippi, with the Rebels getting a 31-17 victory.
Kick off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, and BetOnline has the Rebels as 1.5-point road favorites.
What to know about Ole Miss
The Rebels have shown in the early part of the season that they are more than capable of scoring the football, as they are averaging 41.6 points. The offense is led by sophomore quarterback Matt Corral, who has thrown for 1,080 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception thus far. Corral for three and a half quarters last Saturday was brilliant against Alabama, as the score was tied at 42 before the Crimson Tide pulled away.
Elijah Moore (31 catches, 462 yards and one touchdown) and Kenny Yeboah (15 catches, 355 yards and four touchdowns) have proven to be one of the best duos in all of college football.
What to know about Arkansas
The Razorbacks have been one of the biggest surprises in the SEC, as the team has been highly competitive to start the season. Last week at Auburn, the team appeared to pull a huge upset, as the Tigers spiked the ball backwards in what should have been a game-clinching fumble. However, the referees didn’t see it that way, and Auburn held on for a 30-28 win.
Quarterback Felipe Franks has been outstanding for the Razorbacks, throwing for 730 yards and seven touchdowns. However, most importantly for Arkansas, the Florida-transfer has provided the team with stability at the position. This is something the Razorbacks have been missing for a while, and has allowed them to compete with anyone.
Wide receiver De’Vion Smith averages 22.3 yards per catch, giving Franks and the Razorbacks offense some explosiveness on offense.
The pick is in
While this may not be the biggest game in the SEC today, this has a chance to be an extremely competitive game. Arkansas will have to show a ton of heart and mental toughness as it tries to bounce back from last week’s loss.
We think they not only cover, but we expect the Razorbacks to get the win outright.
