This will be the first time this year that the Georgia Bulldogs have really faced a top quality caliber opponent like LSU and it is the first time that they will get a chance to show just how deserving they are of maintaining the #2 position in the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll.
This game is being played on Saturday afternoon, October 13, 2018, at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with the kickoff scheduled to take place at 3:30 PM ET. Dating back to the year 2000, the Bulldogs and Tigers have faced each other a total of 8 times, with 3 of those games taking place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In those 3 games, the Tigers won 2 out of 3 games SU and ATS.
Bookmaker has set the point spread for this game at Georgia Bulldogs -7.5 and total for over/under plays at 50.5 points.
The Georgia Bulldogs enter this SEC game 6-0 SU and 3-3 ATS. The Bulldogs are coming into this game off a dominating performance over the Vanderbilt Commodores by the score of 41-13.
The Bulldogs really haven’t been tested this year. They have won games by 45, 24, 42, 14, 26 and 28 points. All of their games have been decided by double digits and the reality is they took their foot off the gas pedal in the 4th quarter in many of those games.
The Bulldogs will face LSU this week and then have a bye week before facing the tough defense of the Florida Gators in two weeks. That being said, all of the Bulldogs attention right now looms with the LSU Tigers.
QB Jake Fromm will try to expose the tough LSU secondary and utilize Running Back Elijah Holyfield, who leads the team in rushing. The Bulldogs have the 16th ranked rushing offense in the FBS, averaging 245 yards per game and will look to create problems for the LSU defense.
The LSU Tigers are 5-1 SU and 3-3 ATS on the season. The LSU Tigers took their first blemish on the 2018 resume last week, when they lost to the Florida Gators 27-19.
The Tigers were up against the Gators on Saturday and also a ton of motivation and emotion. The Gators retired QB Tim Tebow’s jersey last Saturday at halftime and that created an emotional push by the Gator fans in attendance and sort of took the wind out of the sails of the Tigers.
LSU has already played a very tough schedule in 2018, getting wins over Miami 33-17, Auburn 22-21 and Ole Miss 45-16. They have won the games they were supposed to win and their only loss was that one blip against Florida.
The Tigers will now look to rebound in what should be their toughest game of the season to date, against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Don’t Try Beating The Trends!
The last 7 times these two teams have faced each other, the game has played over the posted total in 6 of the 7 games. That is a pretty strong stat but there is more!
In the Bulldogs 4 home games this year, they have played all 4 games under the posted total. In the Bulldogs 2 road games, they have played both games over the posted total.
On the other side, the LSU Tigers have played 3 of the 4 home games this year over the posted total. With this game being played in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the trends are begging us to bet the over here and I will comply with the trends.
Why try beating the trends, especially when they are this strong. I will be playing this game at Bookmaker but I will be buying the half point on the total down to 50 points and roll with the Bulldogs and Tigers playing a high scoring game over the posted total!
