Saturday College Football Matchup: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Tennessee Volunteers
One of the top College Football games on Saturday comes to us from the SEC as the #7 Tennessee Volunteers travel to Athens, Georgia, to take on the #12 Georgia Bulldogs. This game is set to take place at 7:30 PM and can be seen on National Television on ABC.
Currently, our friends at Heritage Sportsbook have the Georgia Bulldogs listed as 9 point favorites with the total for the over / under set at 46.5 points.
Tennessee Volunteers Preview
The Tennessee Vols enter this game with an 8-1 SU record but only 5-4 ATS. Their only loss this season came back on October 5, 2024, when they dropped a low-scoring defensive battle against Arkansas on the road by the score of 19-14.
Throwing that single game out, the Vols have been dominant. They have a win over Alabama but what is concerning for Vols fans is the caliber of opposition this year. They only have one opponent on their schedule, Alabama, that has a winning record.
That schedule includes Mississippi State, Kentucky, Florida, Oklahoma, Kent St and NC State. They now have to face a Georgia Bulldogs team that is hungry for a win!
Georgia Bulldogs Preview
If there was ever a “MUST WIN” situation in College Football, this is it for the Bulldogs. They are 7-2 SU and just 2-7 ATS but what is concerning is those 2 blemishes on the record. They are trying everything they can to get into the College Football Playoffs and a 3rd loss may seal their fate.
Last week, the Bulldogs went on the road and got dominated by Ole Miss by the score of 28-10. Their other loss, was to the Alabama Crimson Tide, again on the road, where they lost 41-34.
This game is being played in Georgia, where they have won 5 games this season but only gone 1-4 ATS. This should make for a great game between the Bulldogs and the Vols.
Spooky Express Prediction
Georgia Bulldogs haven’t lost to Tennessee since 2016. They are hungry for a win here but this line is super inflated at 9 points. I wouldn’t touch this game on a side wager with a 10-foot pole!
What we do like here is a defensive matchup, with both teams suffering from injuries. Georgia will be without RB Trevor Etienne, who is their leading rusher. For the Vols, they look to be without their QB Nico Lamaleava (concussion) but even if he somehow gets to play, he didn’t practice at all this week.
Both teams have good defenses and should keep this one a low scoring game. Give us the under 46.5 points in this one!
