DFS Lineup Tips for MLB on July 22, 2017
Top Pitching Recommendations
Chris Archer – Tampa Bay Rays
Chris Archer will face the Texas Rangers on Saturday. Texas has struck out the 3rd most times in the 3rd most in the American League and the 5th most in the majors. Texas is a boom or bust team. They either hit a lot of home runs or they strikeout a lot! Archer has been lights out deadly with K’s in his last 3 games striking out 8, 8 and 9 batters over 6 innings. Archer rarely goes more than 6 innings but the K’s get his fantasy points up there!
Jason Vargas – Kansas City Royals
Jason Vargas will be going for his 13th win of the year when he faces Mike Pelfrey and the Chicago White Sox. Vargas should get real good run support on Saturday and I look for him to get the win. Add in 5-6 K’s and Vargas will get you double digit fantasy points.
Top Stack Recommendations
Kansas City Royals
The Royals lineup is tough and they will be going up against a weak pitcher in Mike Pelfrey. There are a few guys in this lineup that I like tonight against Pelfrey. I will jump around in the stack and start with 2nd baseman Whit Merrifield, OF Lorenzo Cain, Catcher Sal Perez and 3rd Basemen Mike Moustakas. If Eric Hosmer makes it back to the team on Saturday, then definitely put him in the lineup but if he is still away dealing with family matters, leave it as a 4 man stack.
Tampa Bay Rays
Tampa will face Andrew Cashner and I’m simply not a fan of Cashner. In his last 4 starts, he has recorded 3L’s and has been tagged for 25 hits and 12 earned runs. Cashner is a ground ball pitcher but I think the Rays can find success against him on Saturday and if they can get the ball in the air, they could end up playing long ball against Cashner.
Top Player Recommendations
Giancarlo Stanton – Miami Marlins
Giancarlo Stanton and the Miami Marlins will take on Robert Stephenson of the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. This will be Stephenson’s first start of the season, but he has appeared in relief in 13 games. Stephenson has struggled, especially with keeping the ball in the park. In his last appearance, he went 2 innings and allowed 10 hits and 2 home runs! Stanton should have a HUGE day today! Get him in your lineup!
Corey Seager – LA Dodgers
Corey Seager will be going up against Julio Teheran and the Atlanta Braves. Seager has limited exposure against Teheran but in his 6 plate appearances, he has 2 home runs. I like Seager here and think he will have a great day against Atlanta.
