DFS Strategy-Using Injuries To Find Those Diamonds In The Rough
Each week, we are faced with setting out Daily Fantasy Sports lineups and in most weeks, we are dealing with many injuries as we are now in the 3rd week of the NFL season. These injuries can make or break your lineup if you make the wrong move, such as leaving an injured player in your lineup and finding out he isn’t playing.
Those are moments that we have all faced and as we know, they are disastrous. I have never won a GPP when I had a player score big fat zero such as an injured player out of the game. This is why it is always important to make sure you check your lineup before final lock. That being said, what do you do when you find out one of the major players, who are usually a big scorer, are not going to be active that week.
The first thing I will tell you, is this is an ideal spot for saving money and playing those low level guys that can add up to big points! These guys can be diamonds in the rough for DFS lineups. For example, if you have a running back like David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals, who is the workhorse of the offense, and he is going to be out of the lineup because of a injury but it isn’t announced until late Tuesday evening after practice, well the salaries are already published so his salary cost is going to be very expensive, while his replacement should be very cheap and affordable.
If you can find out who is replacing Johnson, chances are he will be very low priced because he isn’t normally a starter and the DFS sites price them accordingly on how they are expected to play and how much time they will be on the field.
Now, most times if you can find one of those backups at a minimal price, you don’t need them to go off and have a huge game scoring, as long as they are scoring accordingly to their salary. Your pricing break will allow you to save money that you can spend elsewhere, which in many instances can be the difference in a winning and a losing lineup.
