Draftkings released their salaries for this Friday's UFC Fight Night 102 from Albany, New York and they have a limited amount of tournaments, available so don't wait around, reserve your seat NOW! As always, we have 3 plays for you, 1 from each tier and one fight to avoid. Best of luck this week in your Daily Fantasy Sports MMA!
Spooky Express Top Tier Draftkings Play
Derek Lewis $9,100
Our top tier play this week for Draftkings this week is Derek Lewis. Lewis is being highly promoted in this fight and the UFC brass knows what they are doing. Look at any poster, look at any commercial, look at any social media post and Derek Lewis is front and center. Lewis has a high finish with 94% and has never been finished in a fight. His 4 loses come by way of decision. If Lewis wins, it happens in the 1st or 2nd round because he gases BAD in the third. I don't think that will be a issue and I look forward to a early stoppage here.
Spooky Express Mid Tier Draftkings Play
Shane Burgos $8,400
Our mid tier play this week is Shane Burgos at $8400. If you didn't get a chance to read our handicapping write up on Shane Burgos, do yourself a favor and check it out. This kid is legit and will one day be in the top 10 of the UFC. He is a high output striker that has an equally effective submission game to be successful wherever the fight may end up. I am anticipating Burgos getting a stoppage victory here and paying off nicely for those who have him on their team! GET HIM ON YOUR TEAM!
Spooky Express Low Tier Draftkings Play
Keith Berish $7,300
Our low tier option this week is Keith Berish. Let me start off by saying this pick isn't as much of me picking Berish as it is me not being impressed with Ryan Janes and picking against him. I previously managed a middleweight fighter by the name of Mike Jasper and during that time, I researched a lot of film on Janes because it was anticipated they would fight each other while on the regional scene. Janes is a very one dimensional fighter and his entire game plan revolves around his submission game. Berish is on a long layoff but he will be fighting in front of his hometown crowd in New York. Berish should be able to fight off the submission attempts by Janes and I'm fairly confident that he will test Janes chin early and often in this fight, which could lead to a KO victory for Berish.
Spooky Express Fight to Avoid
Juliana Lima vs. JJ Aldrich
This week's fight to avoid for UFC Fight Night 102 is Juliana Lima vs. JJ Aldrich. Both of these ladies have VERY low finish rates. Lima is only finishing about 25% of her opponents and Aldrich has only finished 50% of her opponents. Aldrich will be making her UFC debut on short notice after Tatiana Suarez was injured and forced to withdraw from the fight. All of Lima’s fights in the UFC have been decided by decision and her Draftkings points are low for all. She scored 26, 66, 51 and 17 DK points in her 4 UFC fights. That definitely is NOT going to win you any tournaments. AVOID THIS FIGHT!
