Several great tournaments available this week over on Draftkings including another Gotham Qualifier for $5 entry so let's jump right into the article and give out some advise on two plays we like and 1 fight to completely avoid.

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino $13,000

This really is a no brainer and I'm not going to tell you that it is a smart play because I think ownership will be high and she is REALLY expensive, but it is about as safe of a play as you will find. Cyborg has recorded 14 of her 16 wins by knock out or technical knockout, 5 of her last 6 have come by 1st round KO/TKO. She is simply on another level than her opponent, Lina Lansburg, who has NEVER fought anyone remotely close to the caliber of fighter that Cyborg is.

Cyborg has one of the highest significant strikes per minute average in all of MMA with 7.69 and in addition, she rarely gets hit with a 1.55 strikes absorbed per minute in each fight. I look for this fight to be over by the end of 1st round KO with Cyborg getting her hand raised! Also, if you have been paying attention this week, you have noticed a lot of UFC chatter about Cyborg vs. Ronda Rousey. Note: Many people are claiming that Cyborg must lose 25lbs by Friday.

Thiago Santos $11,400

If you're looking for someone with a very high ceiling but not as expensive as “Cyborg”, Thiago Santos is an excellent option! Santos will be fighting in front of his home crowd in Brazil. 6 out of his last 7 victories all come by way of knock out or technical knock out.

His opponent Eric Spicely made his UFC debut against Sam Alvey and was submitted in the 1st round. If you look at Spicely's last fight on the Ultimate Fighter, he was knocked out by Andrew Sanchez. I think Santos will effectively impose his will on Spicely and get a early 1st round stoppage.

Rani Yahya vs. Michinori Tanaka AVOID

Rani Yahya welcomed UFC newcomer Matthew Lopez to the cage back in July and finished him by 3rd round submission after returning from a medical suspension. Many people will look at this and it may cause some increase in his ownership since his last fight ended by submission. What they don't look at is the fact that 7 out of his past 10 fights, ended by decision. Michinori Tanaka has not had a win by stoppage since 2013.

Tanaka has also never been finished in 12 pro fights. Due to the fact that neither of these guys have a high finish rate, both have very low significant strikes per minute and both are very tough to finish, I would recommend you totally avoiding this fight on your Draftkings lineups!
