Below are a few plays to consider placing in your lineups. I'm going to give you two plays that I like and then give you 2 fights to avoid while playing Draftkings, with the reasons for each.
Stipe Miocic $10,000
In the main event, Stipe Miocic will look to make his 1st title defense against #3 Allistar Overream. Stipe Miocic is a talented counter striker who knocked out Fabricio Werdum while back pedaling in his last fight to win the UFC Heavyweight Title. This time, he will get to compete in front of his home crowd and I look for him to come out looking to put on a impressive performance. Overream has lost 9 of his 14 loses by way of TKO/KO. Stipe Miocic has won 11 of his 15 wins by TKO/KO. I think this one will end in the 2nd with Overream laying on his back, staring up at the lights!
Mickey Gall $11,400
Can you tell I am on the Mickey Gall bandwagon for this fight? We gave him out in not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 plays on our handicapping write-up for UFC 203 (See write up). I can't be any more clear about this. I do not see any way that CM Punk survives the first round.
Bethe Correia vs. Jessica Eye
AVOID Neither of these ladies really have an impressive finish rate with Bethe Correia having only finished 22% of her opponents and Jessica Eye only finishing 36% of her opponents. In addition, each of these fighters have only been stopped one time each. They do have a decent significant strikes per minute number but in this fight, I think you totally avoid it as both are coming into the fight off back to back loses and will probably play a very cautious game plan to victory.
Iam McCall vs. Ray Borg
AVOID In a clash of #5 vs. #14, the flyweights take the cage in a top 15 fight on Fox Sports 1. Ian McCall has not stepped inside the octagon since January 2015 and has not scored a stoppage since 2011! Ray Borg has never been stopped and only has a 1.31 significant strikes landed per minute rate! This is going to be a very low scoring affair and I recommend totally avoiding this fight.
