UFC 204 Fighters to Consider on Draftkings
Gegard Mousasi $9400
Vitor Belfort is past his prime and on the downward spiral of his career. He has not made it out of the first round since 2013 (Won3/Lost2) but let us not forget that was before USADA! Vitor Belfort is basically a “BOOM or BUST” type fighter that comes out and tries to end a fight early in the fight. That works well for some but I can't see it working on Mousasi. Mousasi has a very strong cage IQ and I can see him trying to sort of cruise through the first round to get rid of some of the cardio in Vitor's gas tank and then turning it on for a late 1st round, early 2nd round finish.
Danny Roberts $8100
Mike Perry made his UFC debut back in August and won a 1st round KO over Hyun Gyu Lim. I think Perry's ownership will be increased coming off that impressive victory in knockout fashion. In that fight, Lim basically stood right in front of Perry and became target practice! That is very unlikely to happen with his opponent on Saturday, Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts, who will be fighting in front of his hometown crowd with a 8 fight win streak. Roberts is a very well rounded fighter with an equally impressive striking and submission game. I look for Danny Roberts to make a statement in front of the home crowd and get a early 1st round finish.
UFC 204 Fight To Avoid on Draftkings
Albert Tumenov vs. Leon Edwards
Both Leon Edwards and Albert Tumenov have some of the lowest finish rates on the entire card of UFC 204. Leon Edwards has only finished 64% of his opponents and Albert Tumenov has only finished 65% of his opponents. Out of 14 pro fights, Leon Edwards has never been finished. Out of 20 pro fights for Albert Tumenov, he has only been stopped 1 time and that was by submission by high level grappler Gunnar Nelson. He shouldn't have any concern with getting submitted in this fight as Edwards isn't known for his ground game. I think they will both play the safe route and look for a decision victory, which you don't want in DFS.
