UFC 252 is continuing to build hype for the event the closer it approaches. The main card specifically has some interesting matchups along with a world heavyweight championship bout, that is also a third time around, between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.

A great betting opportunity awaits in DFS, with DraftKings having their latest edition of a fantasy MMA tournament. This tournament will pay out a guaranteed $1 million in prizes and $200,000 of that going to the first place winner.

The MMA $1 Million

Here is a quick rundown of the scoring and rules for the tournament:

You are given a salary of $50,000. You just select 6 fighters from the night to build a team without going over that amount.

Fighters earn points based on certain moves. Official scoring totals are:

  • Significant Strikes (0.5 Pts)
  • Advances (3 Pts)
  • Takedowns (5 Pts)
  • Reversals/Sweeps (5 Pts)
  • Knockdowns (10 Pts)

3 Matchups On The Night To Look For

Stipe Miocic ($8,200) vs Daniel Cormier ($8,000)

The trilogy is set for a championship battle. Both of these fighters have outstanding resumes that cannot begin to be compared. They each have won against each other and this fight will settle it all.

Cormier for the best of Miocic in the first meeting, knocking him out early in the first round. The second meeting, Miocic got his revenge and landed over 10 painful body shots in the 4th round to knock out Cormier.

For this one, you could potentially go either way for points. But Cormier is slightly cheaper and I believe he has what it takes to finish out his career with a bang.

Sean O’Malley ($9,200) vs. Marlon Vera ($7,000)

O’Malley has been on a streak like no one else right now. He is going up against a dangerous Marlon Vera. If Vera can take control of the ground here, he has a good chance. However, I see O’Malley being aggressive as always and looking to knock out Vera early.

Herbert Burns ($8,900) vs. Daniel Pineda ($7,300)

Burns might be a fairly high price here, but that is because he is excellent on the ground and will score you a lot of points with his takedowns. Pineda has a good chance to make this fight interesting but if he lets Burns wear him out on the ground then this one is over with a submission.
