The CJ Cup at Summit Betting Tips and Tournament Overview

by Earl Campbell | October 11, 2021 |

This week, the pro’s of the PGA Tour hang out in Las Vegas for another week, this time for the CJ Cup.  The CJ Cup is normally played at Nine Bridges however this year, they changed their location from South Korea to Las Vegas and play at Summit Golf Club in Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is the fifth year for the CJ Cup, with the first three years being played overseas at Nine Bridges.  The tournament was expected to return to South Korea and Nine Bridges in 2021, however with the Covid-19 pandemic still impacting much of the world, the tournament remains here in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This tournament is an invitation-only tournament, and will only have 78 golfers participating.  This tournament normally attracts some of the bigger names in golf and is routinely one of the most competitive fields over the past few years.

In 2017, Justin Thomas won a playoff over Marc Leishman to win the top prize.  In 2018, Brooks Koepka took home the trophy, beating Gary Woodland by 4 strokes to become last year’s champion. In 2019, Justin Thomas again won with a 2 stroke lead over Danny Lee.  Last year, Jason Kokrak beat Xander Schaufelle by 2 strokes to win for the first time here in the states.

Let’s take a look at this course and some tips on betting on this tournament.

The Summit Golf Club Details

Summit Golf Club measures roughly 7,431 yards and is a par 72 course. The Course was designed by Tom Fazio.  Unlike many other desert courses, this course is one of the classiest courses on the PGA Tour.  There are waterfalls, creeks, rolling hills, peaks, and valleys.  This truly is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world and will make for some really great backdrop shots for TV.

The Course is made up of 10 par 4's, 4 par 5's, and 4 par 3's. All the Par 5's play at a distance of over 550 Yards with three of them ranging between 570-615 yards.

CJ Cup Cut Info

Because there are only 78 golfers participating in this tournament, there will be no cut this week.  That means if you guys are playing DFS, it is of utmost importance to make sure you have guys finish in the top 10 and probably most important, have the winner!
