One of the upcoming races is set to be the All American Stakes at Golden Gate Fields on May 25. The event is for three-year-olds and upward and will run at one mile.
Here is a look at some of the entrants for the All American Stakes.
Bob Baffert’s Entrants
Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert has two horses entered into the All American; Ax Man and Justinian.
The 5-year-old stakes winner Ax Man has some impressive performances going into the All American. He has 11 career starts, with two of them coming in 2020. His total earnings are at $295,789.
Ax Man’s last start was back on May 16 when he scored an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Santa Anita Park. In that performance, he received a 109 Speed Figure rating.
Prior to that, he finished third in his other 2020 start, which was the Clocker’s Corner Stakes (Black Type) at Santa Anita on Jan. 26.
Justinian is Baffert’s other entry in the All American. He has seven career starts, with two of them in 2020, and his total earnings are at $129,853.
The 4-year-old’s last start was at the same Allowance Optional Claiming that Ax Man won at Santa Anita Park on May 16. Justinian finished sixth in that outing with a disappointing performance.
Prior to that, Justinian scored a victory in an Allowance Optional Claiming at the track on Jan. 1, registering a 102 Speed Figure. He is still looking for his first stakes victory.
Another one of the entrants to look out for in the All American is Blitzkrieg, a 5-year-old son of War Front. Trained by Doug O'Neill, the gelding has five starts in 2020, with a total of 19 throughout his entire career.
Blitzkrieg’s total earnings are 412,097.
His last start came back on March 7, when he finished all the way back in 11th in the Burj Nahaar Sponsored by Emirates Holidays (G3).
Before that, he finished third in the Feb. 20 Meydan Sprint Sponsored by Land Rover (G2).
Blitzkrieg is looking for his first victory since April of 2019, when he took the San Francisco Mile Stakes (G3) at Golden Gate. In that event, he registered a 111 Speed Figure rating.
Neptune’s Storm is still looking to make his first start of 2020. The 4-year-old son of Stormy Atlantic has 15 career starts with earnings of $637,585.
His last start was on Dec. 28, 2019 in the Mathis Brothers Mile Stakes (G2), where he finished third. Before that, he finished second in the Nov. 30 Hollywood Derby (G1) at Del Mar and third in the Nov. 2 Qatar Twilight Derby (G2) at Santa Anita.
