The Kentucky Utilities Transylvania Stakes Betting Preview and FREE PLAY- Sunday, July 12, 2020

The Grade 3, $100,000 Kentucky Utilities Transylvania Stakes will run as Race 7 on the July 12 card at Keeneland.

The event for 3-year-olds will cover 1 1/16 miles on the turf and include names like Field Pass and Vintage Print leading the field of 11.

Here is a look at the top contenders set for the race.

Field Pass, Vintage Print

Three Diamond Farm’s Field Pass is coming in as the favorite with a morning-line at 2/1. 

Trained by Michael Maker, the 3-year-old son of Lemon Drop Kid has a career record of 4-2-1 from 10 starts and earnings of $358,610.

Last time out, he scored the June 20 Audubon Stakes (Black Type) at Churchill Downs, registering a career-high 103 Speed Figure.

The colt also finished third in the May 23 War Chant Stakes (Black Type) at Churchill Downs, won the March 14 Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) at Turfway Park, and scored the Feb. 1 Dania Beach Stakes at Gulfstream.

Field Pass will break from post 1 under Ricardo Santanata, Jr. 

OXO Equine’s Vintage Print has a morning-line at 4/1. 

The 3-year-old son of Curlin trained by Chad Brown has a career record of 2-0-0 from four starts with earnings of $72,754.

The colt won a June 11 allowance race last time out at Churchill Downs, which followed a victory in a Feb. 22 maiden special weight race at Gulfstream. 

He will be joined by Tyler Gaffalione as the pair breaks from post 5.

Fancy Liquor

Another runner to watch out for is Skychai Racing and Sand Dollar Stable’s Fancy Liquor. 

Trained by Michael Maker as well, the son of Lookin at Lucky is 1-1-1 from three career starts and has earnings of $65,750. All of his starts have come in 2020.

The colt’s most recent performance was a second-place effort in a June 11 allowance race at Churchill Downs. He also took third in the March 14 Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) at Turfway Park and first in a Feb. 2 maiden special weight race at Gulfstream.

Fancy Liquor will break from post 7 under Florent Geroux. His morning-line is at 4/1.

The rest of the field (post, morning-line) includes: Kentucky Ghost (post 2, 30/1); City Man (post 3, 15/1); Juggernaut (post 4, 30/1); Irish Mias (post 6, 8/1); Street Ready (post 8, 12/1); Spanish Kingdom (post 9, 20/1); Kinenos (post 10, 15/1); and Bama Breeze (post 11, 5/1).
