Gelding has the best late pace numbers of this group and is 6-time winner at this distance. He’s moving up in class, hence the 12-1 morning line but I feel this one can outrun his odds today. 6 Bishops Bay has been a model of consistency throughout his career and has crossed the finishing line first 9 times in 14 career starts which includes 4 wins at this distance. Win Contender 

4 Grand Mo the First must be considered after running a career top last out down in South Florida off a near year layoff. He has back class and was just a neck away from defeating Grade 1 winner Deterministic in 2024’s version of the Virginia Derby. Don’t sleep on this son of Uncle Mo. Major Threat

Churchill Downs Race 9 Monomoy Girl Overnight Stakes

5 Percy’s Bar finished a disappointing 7th in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks 6 weeks ago. I’m going to forgive that effort as this Filly didn’t want that mile and an eighth distance and was facing much better than these. She now gets back to a mile and a sixteenth where she is a multiple Grade 1 winner. She’s training well and should showcase her class versus her rivals today. Top Pick

6 Sneaky Good exits from a sharp second place finish in the G2 Beaumont beaten by just under a length. Filly has been no worse than third in 5 lifetime starts as she seeks her first Graded Stakes victory. Win Contender
