Keeneland Race 6 Woodford Stakes Picks, Longshots & Best Bets

Keeneland Race 6 Woodford Stakes Grade 2

8 My Boy Prince exits from a disappointing 6th place finish in a Grade 2 at Kentucky Downs. This Mark Casse trainee didn’t get the best of trips that day and he never got a hold of that unique turf course at Kentucky Downs. His prior efforts at this distance makes this Gelding a fine value play. He has a nice late to turn of foot and might get an ideal pace scenario upfront. Win Contender

6 Joe Shiesty appears to be the controlling speed in here and has an excellent chance to take this group gate-to-wire. This Gelding enters here off a sharp 1/56 bullet. Win Contender

1 Script nearly won last year’s edition of this race when finishing second by just a neck at 22-1 with Johnny V up. He’s a juicy 20-1 on the morning line and might go
off higher come post time. With their proven chemistry and a sweet 20-1 morning line, this combo has all the makings of an electric, high payoff upset. Live Longshot

Selections 8-6-1-7

Keeneland Race 7 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes Grade 2

4 Evanescence is perfect 2-2 at this distance here at Keeneland and has training well, highlighted by multiple bullet works. This Filly has performed well off this
type of layoff and I expect a winning effort today. Win Contender

6 Eclatant is another in here who digs this main track here at Keeneland. Filly won the Grade 1 Madison here back in April and is unbeaten in two starts over
this Keeneland dirt strip. Filly failed to fire last out at the Spa and finished a well beaten 7th in the G1 Balarina. I’m not sure what happened that day but this
Filly is too good to run back-to-back stinkers. Win Contender

7 Echo Sound has sharp early speed in a race that lacks want-the-lead types. If carves out some tepid early fractions, she’ll have plenty left for the stretch drive. Major Threat

Selections 4-6-7-5

Keeneland Race 8 First Lady Stakes Grade 1

10 Bless the Broken has been facing some salty runners throughout her career on dirt. Knocking heads with the likes of Fully Subscribed and the mighty Nitrogen. Trainer Brad Cox tried this Filly on the blades last out and this gal rewarded him and his connections with a Grade 2 victory. She a must play especially at 10-1 on the morning line. Live Longshot

9 Classic Q is another Longshot in here who has a legitimate shot of crossing the finishing line first. Filly appears to be the lone speed in here and should take them a long way, possibly all the way. Live Longshot

2 Lush Lips rarely runs a bad race and won her only Grade 1 win right here on the Keeneland green. Major Player

Selections 10-9-2-3

Keeneland Race 10 Coolmore Turf Mile Grade 1

1 Title Role is a perfect 3-3 at this mile distance and won the Grade 1 Belmont Derby while making his North American debut. Colt followed that strong effort up with an even 3rd place finish in the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby at a mile and 3 sixteenth. I love the cut back today and that trainer Brendan Walsh takes over the training duties. Live Longshot

3 Rhetorical has been overmatched in his last two races, losing to the mighty Deterministic inback-to-back Grade 1’s. This is much easier spot to bounce back and find the winners circle. Win Contender

9 Zulu Kingdom must be considered as this Roan is a Grade 1 winner over this turf course. Win Contender
