Stogies Horse Racing

Aqueduct Race 7 New York Stallion Stakes Series Stakes

  • 4 Brown Sugar Babe has 2 wins here at Aqueduct at this distance and has won 3 of his last 4 races. Filly is in good form and appears to be sitting on another big run. Win Contender
  • 2 Sunday Girl has good tactical speed and should be well positioned behind the likely pace-setter, Athena Beach. This Filly is lightly raced with plenty of upside. Her only loss was versus open company. She’s now back with New York Breds, I like her chances here. Win Contender
  • 8 Khali Magic exits from a last place finish in the Pumpkin Pie Stakes here at the Big A. I’ll draw a line through that effort as she was facing open-company and was caught up in a quick early pace. She’ll be competitive here. Don’t Ignore

Selections 4-2-8-6

Churchill Downs Race 8 Chilukki Stakes Grade 3

  • 2 Pigalle cuts back in distance after finishing a tired 4th in the Grade 2 Locust Grove Stakes here at Churchill. Filly pressed that day and faded late in the stretch, losing by just 5 lengths. This gal will relish the cut back to a one turn mile and the drop in class. Win Contender
  • 4 Two Sharp has been just that in 4 career starts sprinting, winning two races by a combined 17 lengths with placings. She’s working lights out and the added distance should not poise a problem for this daughter of Twirling Candy. Win Contender
  • 10 Positano Secret was last seen finishing second by a neck versus lesser at a mile and a sixteenth. Filly has been facing some salty runners in one turn races and has run well. This one turn mile just might be the ideal distance for this daughter of Goldenscents. Live Longshot

Selections 2-4-10-8

Churchill Downs Race 10 Commonwealth Turf Stakes Grade 3

  • 8 Herchee tracked a very fast pace last out in a G3 at Keeneland and still held on gamely to finish third by just over a length. With the lack of want the lead types in here, look for Jockey Edgar Morales to be on or near the lead. Gelding broke his Maiden over this turf course and appears to be sitting on career effort today. Top Pick
  • 1 My Boy Prince set some blistering fractions in a G3 at Keeneland and tired badly. This Colt should be able to grab the lead versus this group and likely set a tepid pace upfront. I would not be surprised if this 3 year old takes them gate-to-wire today. Win Contender
  • 3 Dashman has only finished out of the Superfecta one time in 6 starts while sporting two trips to the winner’s circle. Don’t Ignore

Selections 8-1-3-9

Del Mar Race 8 Native Diver Stakes Grade 3

  • 2 Ultra Power is a lightly raced son of Curlin trained by Bob Baffert. He exits from a disappointing loss as the odds on favorite, losing by just a neck. Colt was a dominating winner two races back over this main track here at Del Mar, winning by 7 lengths with a near triple digit speed figure. Any repeat of that effort wins this Grade 3. Top Pick
  • 5 Tarantino has been a different animal since being claimed for 40k, three starts to go. Gelding has won back-to-back races, recently upsetting the aforementioned. Win Contender
  • 6 Mixto- Grade 1 winner here at Del Mar, was last seen finishing a disappointing 11th in the BC Classic. Colt has been training well for his return. Major Threat
