After splitting the first two games of the series, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants close out their three games set on Sunday. The Dodgers won Saturday night’s contest 6-1, and the Giants won on Friday, 3-2.
These two teams are locked in a heated battle for 1st place in the NL West. Whoever loses the battle will end up with the 1st NL Wild Card spot. Heading into the final game of the series, both teams have an 86-50 overall record with a 14 game lead over the Padres in the West.
Los Angeles is 7-3 in their last ten games, and San Fran is only 4-6. The Giants have to pick up the pace if they’d like to regain the lead in the West.
BetOnline has the Dodgers favored by 1.5 on the road in this one. The first pitch is set for 7:08 EST on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.
Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview:
Walker Buehler is on the mound for Los Angeles in this one. Buehler may win the Cy Young this season if he finishes the season strong. He is 13-2 with a 2.05 ERA in 176 innings pitched.
Buehler is coming into Sunday with nine straight quality starts and leads the league in quality starts on the season. It’s doubtful that Walker slows down at this point in the season.
Los Angeles has a 23.3% chance of winning the World Series this season, and with their loaded lineup, it isn’t hard to understand why. Since acquiring Trea Turner, he’s been nothing short of phenomenal for the Dodgers. Turner has already produced 5.1 bWAR on the season.
San Francisco Giants Betting Preview:
Are the Giants finally coming back down to earth? Probably not, but they have been a beatable team over the past few weeks. Time to put their foot back on the gas if they want the NL West pennant this year.
The Giants have yet to determine who will be on the bump on Sunday night, but whoever it is won’t be as good as Buehler. Regardless of who it is.
The Giants have been winning off the back of their veteran this season. Buster Posey, Brandon Belt, and Brandon Crawford lead the team in most offensive categories. They don’t have a player that’s hit more than 21 homeruns this year, yet here they are in a pennant race.
Dodgers vs Giants Betting Odds & Lines
The only line we could find was the Dodgers benign favored by 1.5 runs. No game total, team totals, and moneylines have been set. That shouldn’t change the way we were going to bet anyway.
