The Milwaukee Brewers will host the LA Dodgers on Saturday Night, in Game 7 of the NLCS! The winner of this game will move on to face the Boston Red Sox in the 2018 MLB World Series!
We said it back in the first game of the NLCS that this was going to be a great series and it certainly hasn't let us down! The series is tied up at 3-3 and it comes down to the final game of the series!
Let's take a look at both teams in the NLCS Game 7 matchup for Saturday Night!
This game is being played at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with the first pitch scheduled to take place at 8:09 PM ET. This game is being televised on FS1 and should be a very exciting game to watch, beings it is a Game 7 of the series.
BetOnline has set the money line for this game at LA Dodgers -115 and Milwaukee Brewers +105 and set the total for Over/Under plays at 7.5 runs.
The LA Dodgers were one win away last night from going to the World Series but the Brewers refused to go away! The Dodgers lost the Game 6 matchup by the score of 7-2, after putting together just 5 hits and 2 earned runs against the Brewers pitching.
The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead in the game, hitting a leadoff home run from David Freese to start the game. That was the only lead the Dodgers had on Friday Night and it was short lived as the Brewers came up in the bottom of the 1st inning and scored 4 runs.
On Saturday, the Dodgers will send Walker Buehler to the mound to try to win a shot at the World Series. Buehler was the losing pitcher in Game 3 of the NLCS, giving up 5 hits and 4 earned runs over 7 innings against the Brewers.
That was the second time Buehler has faced the Brewers this year, also losing back on July 31, in the regular season, and giving up 5 hits and just 1 earned run in a 1-0 loss to the Brewers. All in all, he is now 0-2 against the Milwaukee Brewers and will be on a very short leash tonight when he faces them at Miller Park.
The Milwaukee Brewers were not going to make it easy on the Dodgers on Friday Night and they came out swinging the big bats. The Brewers combined for 7 runs off 11 hits and their pitching was remarkable! They will now look to continue their hot home streak when they face the Dodgers for a shot to play the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.
When the Brewers are swinging hot bats, it doesn't matter which pitcher they are facing and when they have the Brewer fan base behind them, screaming loud, they are tough to beat. On Friday Night, it was a sell-out crowd and they were loud! I expect much of the same, if not louder!
The Brewers will send their top pitcher Jhoulys Chacin to the mound for the Game 7 start. Chacin was 15-8 in the regular season, with a 3.50 ERA, and has been spectacular in the postseason with a 2-0 record and not having allowed a run in the postseason!
All though he didn't allow a run to the Dodgers in Game 2 of the NLCS, when he faced them in the regular season, he was pounded at the ton of 5 hits, 4 walks, and 9 runs in a 21-5 loss to the Dodgers. Chacin is now 1-1 this year against the Dodgers and looking to close it out with one more win!
Brewer and Dodgers Play Low Scoring Game 7
The Brewers and the Dodgers are going to face each other on Saturday Night in Game 7 of the NLCS. The Winner will move on to take on the Boston Red Sox in the World Series and the Loser will have their season come to an end. This means, that both teams will be very restrictive with their pitching staffs. The bottom line, if a pitcher is in any trouble at all, the teams will go to their bullpens. We will see starting pitchers coming into the game in relief and it is an all hands on deck type of operation.
Think of this as a one-game playoff game, with the loser going home! These one-game playoff games always play under because if the team starts to give up base hits, they will pull th pitcher quicker than normal. This game should be no different. I think Milwaukee will go to Hader early in this game because he wasn't used on Friday Night and both teams will try to limit the baserunners of the opposing team.
The run line is currently set at 7.5 runs. I suggest you buy that half run up to 8 and roll with this game to play under the posted total for 3 units!
