MLB World Series Game 6 Betting Preview: Atlanta Braves vs. Houston Astros – Tuesday, November 2, 2021

by Spooky Express | November 2, 2021 |

The World Series shifts back to Houston for game six on Tuesday night after the Astros staved off elimination on Halloween night.

The Atlanta Braves are still in the driver’s seat in the series, but Houston has regained some of its confidence and swagger after their 9-5 comeback victory Sunday night.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview: Could Tonight be the Night?

The Atlanta Braves come into game six with a 3-2 lead in the series. After Adam Duvall’s grand slam gave the Braves a 4-0 lead in game five, it seemed that there was going to be a party in Atlanta. However, the Braves bats could not keep up with Houston’s awakened offense and dropped game five.

One advantage that Atlanta has going forward is that their two best starting pitchers will be ready to go for games six and seven. Manager Bryan Snitker said that after using the bullpen starts the last two games; lefthander Max Fried will start game six.

Fried will be making his fourth start in the postseason and second in the World Series. He has a record of 1-2 in the playoffs with a 5.40 ERA. In his previous start, Fried went five innings, allowing six runs on seven hits. He struck out six and walked one in a 7-2 loss in game two.

Offensively, the Braves are hitting .248 as a team. Their leading hitter is left fielder Eddie Rosario, who is hitting .411 in the postseason. First baseman Freddie Freeman leads the Braves with four postseason home runs, and Rosario has driven in 11 runs.

Houston Astros Betting Preview: One Game at a Time

The Houston Astros come into game six with renewed confidence after coming back from a four-run deficit to run away with game five on Sunday night. Houston came back in that game and scored nine runs without a single home run.

Their experience and clutch hitting stood out in that game and could carry them all the way back in this series.

Manager Dusty Baker will send right-hander Luis Garcia to the mound Tuesday night. Garcia will be making his fifth postseason start and second of the World Series.

He has a record of 1-2 with a 7.62 ERA in this year’s playoffs. In his last start, Garcia went 3.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out six and walked four in a 2-0 loss in game three.

Offensively, the Astros seem to have found their swagger. They are hitting .265 as a team after their 12-hit barrage in game five. Their leading hitter is first baseman Yuri Gurriel, who is hitting .333 in the postseason.

Second baseman Jose Altuve leads the Astros with five home runs, and right fielder Kyle Tucker has driven in 15 runs.
