The Phoenix Suns will host the Boston Celtics on Thursday Night, November 8, 2018, in an NBA Matchup.

This is the first time this season that the Celtics and Suns will play each other.

These two met up last year two times, with the Boston Celtics winning both games but it was Phoenix who covered the spread in both games.

Let's take a closer look at the details of the game and each team in the matchup!

Game Location

This game is being played at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona with the tip-off scheduled to take place at 9:00 PM ET.

Betting Odds

Sportsbetting.ag has set the point spread for this game at Boston Celtics -8 and betting total for Over/Under plays at 211.5 points.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics enter this game in 4th place in the Eastern Conference, 3.5 games behind the Toronto Raptors for the top spot in the East. They have a record of 6-4 and are looking to snap a two-game road losing streak, where they lost to Denver Nuggets 115-107 and Indiana Pacers 102-101.

The Celtics are only 10 games into the regular season but there has to be some concern for the way their offense looks to start the season. Part of the problem is the team is still holding Gordon Hayward on a minutes restriction. Hayward is meant to be the main source of offense but they are limiting him right now and taking it very slowly with his recovery from his ankle injury from last year.

Kyrie Irving has also been recovering from his injury from last year and has gotten off to a slow start but it appears he is starting to play better. He shot 43% from the floor in October but has turned it on as November has started and is now shooting 59% through three games in this month.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns expected to improve from last year’s debacle of a season but if the first 10 games are any indication on how the season will play out, the Suns are in serious trouble. The Suns are 2-8 overall on the season and have now lost 8 of their last 9 games overall.

The Suns appear to simply be not playing together as a team. In this latest loss, the Suns lost to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday Night and Devin Booker mentioned the fact that the team lacked “Trust and Chemistry”.

Whatever the reason, the Suns are not playing well right now. Not only are they losing games but they are getting blown out in most. In the Suns 8 losses, they have lost by an average of over 19 points per game!

Celtics Roll Past Suns

Sure, all the stats support playing Phoenix here. Yes, they’ve covered the spread in 5 straight against the Celtics but this is a bad basketball team right now. This is the ideal spot for Boston and I think we get the line lowered due to the fact that Boston has struggled with putting points up.

This game is different. The Suns are allowing 23.7 points per game off turnovers, which is the worst in the league and that means the Celtics will have plenty of chances to roll up the score and get some of those break-away points that they’ve lacked this year. Boston will win this game by double digits! Roll with the Celtics here for 2 units!
