The (27-29) Charlotte Hornets travel to Amway Center in Orlando, Florida to take on the (26-32) Orlando Magic in a matchup of Southeastern division foes. Charlotte despite having a losing record is in 1st place of the division with a 1½ lead over Miami.
Orlando with an even worse record is still only 2 games off the pace and in 3rd place. Charlotte has taken both games this season between the two and both by at least 25 points.
This game is being played at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with the tip-off scheduled to take place at 7:00 PM EST
BetOnline has set the point spread for this game at Orlando -3 and the over/under has been set at 216 points.
Kemba Walker is the team’s leading scorer with 25.2 ppg. That is 10 points more per game than the closest teammate. Cody Zeller is the leader in rebounds pulling down 6.6 boards per game. Kembra Walker is also the team leader in assists with 5.7 per game.
Charlotte is scoring 111.2 ppg while giving up 111.0 ppg. Charlotte’s offense is only ranked 18th in the league at scoring points per game. Charlotte is right in the middle of the pack at 15th in points allowed per game. Charlotte is only 8-20 on the road. In their last 10 games, they are 5-5 SU and 4-5-1 ATS. Even their over/unders are split at 5-5. Yes, this is a very average team you are seeing this year.
Decent at home, poor on the road. Not good enough to go on a run, but not bad enough to go on a really long losing streak. Hope Michael Jordan does not read this. LOL, Actually that would be really awesome to have him check out The Spooky Express!! I am sure he is not pleased with his team this season.
Nikola Vucevic leads this team in scoring with 20.6 ppg and rebounding with 12.1 per game. D.J. Augustine is the assist leader at 4.9 per game.
Orlando is scoring 105.4 ppg while giving up 107.2 ppg. Orlando’s offense is way down there ranked 25th in points scored, there are only 5 teams out there who are challenged more than the Magic. Luckily Orlando’s defense is ranked at number seven to help balance out their poor scoring ability.
Orlando is probably playing it’s best ball right now winning their last five straight games which is their longest winning streak of the season. They have won 6 of their last 10 games including covering 7 of the last 10. Orlando is only 15-15 SU at home which surprises me.
- Charlotte is only 5-11 ATS last 16 on the road
- Charlotte is 10-1 ATS last 11 vs Orlando
- Charlotte has won SU the last 10 in this series
- Charlotte is 5-1 ATS last 6 at Orlando
- Orlando is 6-1 SU & ATS last 7 games
- OVER is 5-2 last 7 times Charlotte played at Orlando
- Favorite is 10-1 ATS last 11 in this series
Do you have a coin in your pocket? Flip it and it might land on its side.
I am trying to come up with a side in this one. I feel like Charlotte is the better team but don’t trust them on the road. There are things I like about Orlando and how well they are playing, but not impressed with their home record. This is really an average game, between two average teams who cannot make up their minds if the want to be good or bad.
It is hard to go against Charlotte who has dominated Orlando winning the last 10 and covering all but one. Plus the average margin of victory in those 10 games is (116.9 to 96.9), that’s a whopping 20 points. I am not going against that.
Even it if loses, you kind of have to take it in my opinion when there are no other factors that even make me want to bet this game. Going small, but cannot pass up the recent results in this series. Grab the points, but you won’t need them.
