We have a game 7 in the Western Conference first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs as the Dallas Mavericks, and LA Clippers will face off one more time this season at the Staples Center on Sunday evening. This winner will face the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Semifinals in the next round.
These two teams have battled it out against one another throughout the series, with each team claiming three wins.
This series has been interesting as neither team has won a game at home so far. The LA Clippers will be looking to change their fortune and end the home losing streak, while the Mavericks are hoping to make sure winning on the road stays that way.
Dallas Mavericks Betting Preview: Can they keep the road streak alive and win game seven
The Dallas Mavericks have played some really good basketball in this series and have forced it to a game seven. Winning on the road has been the theme so far, and despite the disappointment the team has of not being able to close out the previous game, they will be hoping they can finish this series with a high-level performance on Sunday.
Luka Doncic has done everything and then some to help lead the Mavericks to game seven, but if this team is hoping to win on Sunday and potentially make a deep run in the playoffs, they are going to need other players to step up and help lighten the load. The Clippers will be aggressive on Doncic from the tip, which will create opportunities for teammates to step up and make shots.
Throughout their three wins, the wins can be accredited to timely shots by Doncic and his ability to create easier looks for others. Kristaps Porzingis has really struggled in this first round, and for a max contract player, they are going to need much more out of him in this game and later in the playoffs if they are to advance.
Los Angeles Clippers Betting Preview: Change the fortune and close out game seven at home
It's hard to trust this Clippers team due to their very inconsistent play to start the postseason. Having been the favorites to win this series, this team continues to underperform despite having the more talented roster on the court.
Like the Mavericks and Doncic's fantastic play, the Clippers have relied heavily on one player to get through the first six games of this series. Kawhi Leonard was terrific, scoring 45 points in game six and a big three that sealed the victory. The problem has been much like the Mavericks; their supporting cast hasn't been very good when they have needed them the most.
The Clippers have been terrific defensively in the series and are hoping to replicate that performance in game seven. They have struggled to shoot the three-ball going 10-34 in game six, but they will need to find that shooting form if they want a win.

This series has been tightly contested, and we should expect much of the same in this game. As stated earlier, winning on the road has been the thing in this series, so the outcome could go either way, but the Clippers were one of the best shooting teams and have depth that could swing this their way.
The Clippers hold a slight advantage, but the Mavericks have answered all questions and continue to pose a threat. Outshooting has been the Achilles heel for the Clippers, and containing Luka Doncic has been a major issue.
After last season's disappointing exit in the bubble and an inconsistent start to the postseason, the Clippers come out aggressive with a lot of intensity and seal the victory in what should be a back and forth game.
