Matchup at a Glance
When: Friday, April 19, 2019 at 7:00 PM EST
Where: Amway Center in Orlando, Florida
Spread: Toronto -5
Betting Total: 210 points
The series between the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors will move from Toronto, Canada to Orlando, Florida for Game 3.
The series is currently tied at 1-1 for each team, with Orlando taking that first game to shock the Raptors.
Last year, the Raptors were eliminated from the postseason as the #1 seed and it cost their Head Coach his job? Can they find a way to put together a road trip where they can grab a game or two?
This game is being played at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida with tip-off scheduled to take place at 7:00 PM EST. In the 2 regular season games between the Raptors and Magic, the two teams split the games but it was Orlando that got the cover ATS in both games.
BetDSI has set the line for this game at Toronto -5 and the over/under has been set at 210 points. During those two regular season games in Orlando, the line was Toronto -5 and Toronto -7, with both games being easily covered by the Magic.
The Orlando Magic entered the NBA's postseason as the #2 seed. They went 58-24 during the regular season and finished just 2 games behind the #1 seed, Milwaukee Bucks.
The Raptors have relied heavily on their defense in the series, and most importantly taking Orlando Magic Center Nikola Vucevic out of the equation. They have turned to both Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka to place heavy emphasis on preventing Vucevic from being an important part of the Magic's success.
The Raptors are led by Kawhi Leonard. Leonard is averaging 31 points per game, 5 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game. Leonard has posted 8 straight postseason games with at least 30 or more points in the playoffs.
The Orlando Magic will look to use their home court advantage to their benefit when they host Toronto on Friday Night. The Magic were one of the better teams at home this year, going 25-16 at the Amway Center.
The Magic were the 7 seed heading into the postseason and winning that spot was no walk in the park. They had to win to get in and now that they are in, everything from here out is a bonus. They opened up the postseason by pulling off the shocker and beating the Raptors in Canada, which is tough for any team to do!
The Raptors only lost 9 times all season on their home court but Orlando showed that they can put together a recipe to win basketball games and showed that the Raptors can not take this team lightly. In game 2, the Magic feel like they didn't get the best game out of their Center, who we talked about earlier.
You can expect a much better game plan where Vucevic can get clear with the ball and get some better shooting from the floor. The Magic as a team only shot 37% in Game 2, and if they expect to get a win, they must shoot at a higher percentage.
Raptors Get Road Win and Cover Over Magic
I think the Raptors got caught off guard at home and now, will look to get their first ATS cover over Orlando on Friday Night. There is no question in my mind that Toronto is the better team here. They can slow down the game and force Orlando to play at their tempo and they can speed it up with Leonard running the court. The options are there for the Raptors and more than what Orlando has on their side.
I got the Raptors winning this game but I am left with questions on the spread. While I do think that they will pull off the ATS win, I think you have to buy down at least 1 point. I expect the game will be close up until the end of the game and we want to be in a spot where we are forcing Orlando to foul after being down by 5-6. That is the ideal spot. Take Toronto -4!
