Colorado Rockies vs. Houston Astros

June 25, 2024

On Tuesday night, the Colorado Rockies get set to tangle against the Houston Astros in the first of a brief two-game set inside Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. They toss out the first pitch at 8:10 pm.

Bookmaker has installed the Astros -260 on the ML.

Houston Astros Betting Preview

The Astros are two games under .500 in the season, yet they are still a contender in their own division. They are just six games back of the Seattle Mariners in the AL West standings and have plenty of time to make up ground.

They are a veteran and battle tested team and they always seem to have a run in them. They have some very good hitters who have been with the club for years now and they know how to get the job done and hit in the clutch.

Left fielder Yordan Alvarez has been a steady player for the Astros and he has already clubbed 16 home runs and he has scored 43 runs. He has quietly put forth a very impressive season and is one of the true leaders on the team.

The Astros have hit 94 home runs this season, and they have a solid batting average of .262 so far. They will send out Hunter Brown, who steps on the hill with a mark of 4-5.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies have dropped six of eight overall and they have struggled with their starting pitching as well as the heart of their lineup. They are buried in last place in a stacked NL West and there is no way they are digging themselves out of this hole this season. They are already 20 games back of the stellar Los Angeles Dodgers and they have a horrible record of 27-51.

Shortstop Ezequiel Tovar seems to be a nice spark to their offense, and he has already clubbed 12 home runs. He will smash his career-high of 15 which he hit last season. He has a slick glove and plays solid defense too. He is a piece they will build around too.

If the meat and heart of the lineup can start producing, the Rockies will be able to get men on base. They have to learn how to manufacture runs as well and take some chances on the bases.

The Rockies will hand the ball over to Austin Gomber, who has a mark of 1-4 in the season. He needs to get out of the first two innings unscathed if the Rockies have a shot in this one.
