She has been facing some very good competition on the West Coast in Graded races and has performed well. Top Pick

3 Sweet Treasure lost all chance at victory last out when stumbling at the gate. Filly did show some late interest and came home with a strong gallop out. A better trip today and this gal can make some noise in here at a price. Win Contender 

4 Expansive Queen drops 5 lbs off her victory versus Allowance/Optional 62.5k2X foes in her most recent start. Two races back this Mare took on Grade 1 competition and ran an even 4th. She did not run on Lasix that day which could have been a factor. She’s back on the juice today and is perfect 2-2 in the States when Lasix is administered. Don’t Ignore

Fair Grounds Race 9 Mineshaft Stakes Grade 3

6 Hit Show just seems a cut above the competition in here. He is multiple Graded Stakes winner which includes a victory in the prestigious Dubai World Cup. Even if this 6 year old isn’t 100% I still believe he handles this bunch. Top Pick

5 Time to Win looks like he’s figured it out after breaking his maiden in his 4th attempt. Roan followed up that victory with a neck win when facing winners for the first time. He sports a1/56 bullet at Payson Park and appears to be sitting a big effort. Major Threat 

4 Moonlight is a bit pace dependent and if the pace heats up early, this closer will mowing them down in the stretch drive. Don’t Ignore

6 Montador steps up in class after a 4 an a quarter length victory here at the Fair Grounds versus softer. Colt earned a 97 dirt Bris speed figure that day and his gallop out was impressive. He sports a plethora of good works coming and appears to be a great value play in this Grade 3. Win Contender 

7 Kapuna has run two very good races here at the Fair Grounds, including a win in a local Stakes last out at a mile and a sixteenth. Gelding should relish the added distance today. Win Contender

9 Lagynos was outdueled to the wire last out versus the aforementioned.  This Steve Asmussen trainee looks to turn the table on his rivals here today as he makes his second start off the layoff. Major Player

7 Majestical is a recent Maiden winner who jumps into the deep end of the pool today. Filly is fast improving daughter of Good Magic and will need to once again move forward to get the victory here. She’s working well for trainer Peter Eurton and these Good Magic siblings tend to progress at a quick rate. Win Contender 

3 Bella Ballarina is undefeated in 2 career starts which includes a Grade 2 victory here in the Golden Rod Stakes. She was slowing down late in stretch run that day but to her credit she was chasing a very early pace. She could be on the lead today with the lack of early speed types in here. If she gets an uncontested lead and sets some tepid early fractions, it will be lights out for the rest of the field. Win Contender

1 Just Singing has a sharp turn of late foot but this Filly will need to work out a trip from the one hole. Johnny V gets the ride today which is an upgrade. Major Player

Fair Grounds Race 12 Risen Star Stakes Grade 2

4 Paladin is unbeaten in two lifetime starts. Colt was last seen winning the Grade 2 Remsen at the Big A at this mile and an eighth distance. He has great tactical speed and should positioned well under the guidance of jockey Tyler Gaffalione. This Gun Runner Colt will get the first jump on the pace setters today and will have to fend off some very good closers at the wire. Top Pick

7 Courting was no match for Paladin in the Remsen, finishing a disappointing 4th but I’m going forgive that effort as this Todd Pletcher runner didn’t get the smoothest trip and was a bit rank. I love that Pletcher adds the blinkers today which should move this Colt forward. Major Player

2 Golden Tempo is another unbeaten contestant in here. This Colt came from the clouds to win the Grade 3 Lecomte while making up 10- lengths. His speed figures are a bit sub- par and he’ll need to improve to defeat the likely favorite Paladin. Major Threat
