August 15, 2024

The final game of a four-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers will take place on Thursday afternoon when the Los Angeles Dodgers travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to face the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field with the first pitch of Game 4 scheduled for 2:10 PM ET and will air on the MLB Network, Bally Sports Wisconsin, and SportsNet Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Dodgers Team Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers saw their five-game winning streak end on Wednesday with a 4-5 loss on the road in Game 3 of their series against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Dodgers had outscored the Brewers 12-4 entering Game 3 on Wednesday, following a 5-2 win in Game 1 on Monday and a 7-2 win in Game 2 on Tuesday.

The loss dropped the record for the Dodgers to 71-50. However, this season, Los Angeles still has the best record in the National League and the 3rd best in baseball, only behind the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees.

Three of the four runs for Los Angeles were scored in the 1st inning, which included Freddie Freeman scoring off a double off the bat of Kevin Kiermaier for the 3rd run in the inning. Walker Buehler didn't last long in the start as he pitched 3 ? innings with four of the five runs for the Brewers coming with Buehler on the mound.

However, he was only charged with one earned run at the start. Los Angeles has won eight of the last ten games in the series and has outscored Milwaukee by an average of 5.3 to 3 runs per game in those matchups. The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to win the series 3-1 when they travel to face the Milwaukee Brewers for Game 4.

Milwaukee Brewers Team Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers ended their three-game losing streak following a 5-4 win in Game 3 of the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at home which helped to improve the record for the Brewers to 68-52, which puts them in 1st place in the NL Central, an 8.5-game lead over the  Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals for 1st place in the division, and the 3rd best record in the National League, only behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies.

Even though the Dodgers scored three runs in the 1st inning, none of the runs scored were earned runs, as Frankie Montas had a solid performance on the mound in Game 3, pitching five innings, allowing 0 earned runs, and recording six strikeouts.

However, his start resulted in a no-decision. Three of the five runs for the Milwaukee Brewers came in the bottom of the 2nd inning, including a solo home run off Jake Bauers, his 10th home run this season. The win also ended a two-game losing streak in the series against the Dodgers for the Brewers. However, Milwaukee has been outscored by an average of 3 to 5.33 runs per game in the series following Game 3 on Wednesday.

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to split the series with the Los Angeles Dodgers when they host the Dodgers for Game 4 on Thursday afternoon.
