Spooky Express Daily NFL Football Picks and Preview for Sunday, October 6, 2024

It is Sunday, October 6, 2024, and we are in week 5 of the NFL Regular Season. On Thursday Night, we witnessed a classic as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons went to overtime, with the Falcons coming away with the win 36-30.
If we can get some games today that are half as good as that one was, it will be a good day! Let’s look at a pair of games from today and then we will give you our free play on the day!
Baltimore Ravens (2-2) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (1-3)
Two AFC North teams will battle it out today in Cincinnati, Ohio, as the Baltimore Ravens take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 1:00 PM. I don’t think anyone expected the Ravens to be 2-2, but on the other hand, no one expected the Bengals to come into this game with a 1-3 record.
The workhorse for the Ravens will be RB Derrick Henry. He leads the league in rushing with 480 yards. Henry has been a beast all season, running over opposing defenses.
The Ravens have been a somewhat confusing team, beating two tough teams in Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys, but losing the the Las Vegas Raiders, which raises some eyebrows, and the KC Chiefs, which was on the first night of the regular season.
Cincinnati got its first win last week, a 34-24 win over the Carolina Panthers. It has losses to Washington, Kansas City, and New England.
The Bengals’ offense is starting to get healthy, and they can’t be overlooked. According to MyBookie, the Ravens are 2-point road favorites in this game, with the total set at 48.5.
NY Jets (2-2) vs. Minnesota Vikings (4-0)
By a show of hands, who predicted the Minnesota Vikings would be one of two undefeated teams in the NFL?I surely did not, but I have to admit, they’ve been impressive in the first four games of the year.
Vikings QB Sam Darnold leads the league in Passer Rating with 118.9 and is protecting the ball, with 11 touchdowns compared to just 3 interceptions on the year.
Opposing Danold and the Vikings will be the future Hall of Famer, Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers and the Jets are coming in off a tough loss to the visiting Denver Broncos, 9-10. Rodgers struggled with moving the ball on offense, and if they have the same issue here against Minnesota, they will find themselves on the wrong side of a blowout!
MyBookie has the Minnesota Vikings listed as a 2 point favorite, with the total only sitting at 40.5 points.
Spooky Express Free Pick
Our free play for today is a parlay with these two games. We like the Baltimore Ravens as the first leg of the parlay and our second leg will be the over in the Minnesota vs. NY Jets game. Baltimore is simply a better team than Cincinnati. We have not been impressed by Cincinnati this season, they haven’t looked good at all so Baltimore should be able to get the road win. Tie them up with the over in the Jets/Vikes game for a nice little two team parlay!
