There are a lot of questions to be answered about both teams in this matchup through Week 10. In this Week 11 matchup, the Baltimore Ravens travel to Chicago to take on the Bears. The Bears are coming off a bye week, and the Ravens are coming off a tough loss on Thursday night against the Dolphins.
For the Bears, we have seen the improvement week after week from Justin Fields, and he is the future of this organization. The question for the Bears lies in their head coach and general manager. Is Matt Nagy capable of leading this team? Is Ryan Pace capable of leading this organization as the general manager? If Matt Nagy does not turn things around quickly or he could be in a heap of trouble.
For the Ravens, they have to find a way to play a complete game. So far this season they have not done that too often. The injuries are starting to affect this team and you can tell they are very weak in certain areas. The Ravens still have a shot at winning their division, as their division is starting to crumble, but it will take resilience from this team to do it.
Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview: Are They Legitimate?
At the beginning of the season, the Ravens looked like a legitimate AFC contender, and well, that thought may be no more. Their third loss this season came to a Miami team that many would say is underachieving this year. Baltimore has suffered injuries in key positions and it is starting to show.
The Ravens had little to no ground game on Thursday night in Miami, along with the offensive line not wanting to block. Lamar Jackson was given little to no time in the pocket and after the first two drives, the Ravens’ offense was nonexistent. After a bad loss in Las Vegas to start the year and being blown out in the second half against the Bengals, this team does not look good.
What can the Ravens do to turn things around? Well for starters, they need to stay healthy. That would be the number one priority. Secondly, they need to come ready to play. They were flat on Thursday night on a short turnaround and did not come ready to play. Lastly, they need to play a complete game. With so many injuries this is a super challenging task, but that has been their Achilles heel this year.
Chicago Bears Betting Preview: How Hot Is Matt Nagy’s Seat?
You would think by now, that Matt Nagy would have been fired. Nope. The McCasky family for some reason is hanging on to Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace for that matter. Matt Nagy was brought in with the thought of him being an offensive genius. After watching this Bears offense for the last few years, someone made a bad thought.
Since the Bears’ miraculous season in 2018-19, the season that ended on a double-doink, the Bears have been atrocious. Neither side of the ball has been able to get on the same page for the Bears. There is a lot of dysfunction, which is not good for a star rookie quarterback. Justin Fields is a quarterback who can take your team to the next level, but if you have an inept head coach, you are wasting his potential.
The one thing we do know, Matt Nagy will not be fired midseason. The McCaskey family never fires a coach midseason. Even with Marc Trestman and that disaster of an era in Bears history, he was let go after the season. Nagy has gone to the playoffs twice with the Bears, but neither time has been successful. The Bears fired Lovie Smith after a 10-6 season, which may still haunt them to this day.
Ravens vs Bears Odds & Lines
Spread: Ravens -6
The spread for this game is about as perfect as it can be. This game will be close, as the Bears are good enough to be competitive, and the Ravens are bad enough this year to let teams hang around too long. That has been the story of the year for both teams.
Free Pick: Baltimore
This is a game for the Ravens to get back on the right track. This team is struggling right now to find their identity with all the injuries and they still lead their division. Chicago does not look hopeful at all for the playoffs, especially in a stacked NFC.
This game is going to be a breakout game for Lamar Jackson. Besides the Bears front rushers there is not a lot there. The Bears are very bad at letting receivers past them and Lamar loves to take deep shots. Look for a connection with Hollywood Brown or Rashad Bateman this next week.
