Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview: Get Some Momentum Going
The Los Angeles Chargers come into play with a record of 3-7, six games behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. The Chargers are coming off a win over the lowly New York Jets last Sunday. The victory seemed rare for the Chargers, but every one of L.A.’s losses this season has been by a touchdown or less. Close losses are typically the result when a young quarterback takes over.
Justin Herbert had a monster game against the Jets, completing 37 of 49 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns. Herbert’s rating was 116.5 for the game. Keenan Allen had a game for the ages, reeling in 16 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Mike Williams chipped in as well, catching four passes for 72 yards and a score.
On the season, Herbert has completed 68% of his passes for 2,699 yards and 22 touchdowns. He has thrown six interceptions on the season, and following the injury to Joe Burrow, Herbert has the inside track to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Injuries have ravaged the Chargers’ backfield. Joshua Kelley leads the group with 311 rushing yards and a touchdown. Five different running backs have at least 10 carries, while four receivers have recorded rushing attempts as well.
Buffalo Bills Betting Preview: Stay in Front
The Buffalo Bills come into play with a record of 7-3, one game in front of the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. The Bills have won three of their last four games. In their previous game, Buffalo had their hearts ripped out by a hail mary pass from Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray threw a 43-yard bomb at the buzzer that DeAndre Hopkins snatched out of the air despite three defensive backs blanketing the coverage.
The Bills had scored 30 seconds earlier to take the lead in an epic game. Quarterback Josh Allen completed 32 of 49 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Wide receiver Cole Beasley was busy in the game, catching 11 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.
On the season, Allen has completed 68% of his passes for 2,871 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has been intercepted seven times. Running back Devin Singletary leads a committee along with Zach Moss. Singletary has carried the ball 99 times for 401 yards and a touchdown. Moss has carried the ball 72 times for 224 yards and three scores. Allen has also been a force in the running game, carrying 72 times for 279 yards and five scores. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been a force this season, catching 73 passes for 906 yards and four touchdowns.
Betting Lines and Predictions
MyBookie has a moneyline on this game of Buffalo -235, and Los Angeles currently sits at +195. The Bills are favored by five points, and the over/under is 53.
This game should be a high scoring affair, as neither defense defends the pass particularly well. However, the Bills are just a bit more polished defensively and are playing at home. The Chargers are still trying to learn how to win, so it would be wise to take the Bills in this one.
