2021 Buffalo Bills Betting Preview

by Spooky Express | June 2, 2021 |

The 2020 season for the Buffalo Bills was one of the best in recent memory, and it nearly concluded with a trip to the Super Bowl. Buffalo won the AFC East Division title and then advanced all the way to the AFC Championship Game before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Quarterback Josh Allen took a big leap in 2020, and the Bills also found plenty of defense. There is plenty of optimism surrounding this franchise heading into the 2021 season.

2021 Buffalo Bills Offseason Additions

The Bills didn’t have a ton of holes to fill coming into the 2021 season, but they were able to add some pieces that should help out. The biggest splash this offseason was signing wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a one-year deal, which will give Josh Allen another target.

Mitch Trubisky also signed a deal with Buffalo, and he will be the backup quarterback in case anything happens to Allen.

2021 Buffalo Bills Offseason Departures

Buffalo will enter the 2021 season without some of their key players from a great run in 2020, including wide receiver John Brown. That could be a big blow to the Bills offense, but the addition of Sanders should help.

Defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson has also moved on, but that was a position of depth for Buffalo in 2020.

Three Key Factors To A Winning Season

Running the Football

The Bills were a great offensive team in 2020, but most of the damage was done through the air. Buffalo was 20th in the NFL in rushing yards, and that puts too much pressure on Josh Allen and the passing attack.

Limiting Penalties

Buffalo committed 102 penalties during the 2020 season, which was the 7th most in the NFL. The Bills have to play with more discipline if they are going to take the next step and challenge the Chiefs.

Staying Healthy

Health is a key for every team in the NFL, but it’s extremely important to the Bills. Quarterback Josh Allen takes a ton of hits, and an injury to the star quarterback could derail the season.

Rating Their Schedule

The Bills have a relatively easy schedule in 2021, at least that is how it looks on paper. The 2021 opponents of the Bills went just 130-142 in 2020, but some of those teams should be much improved this season.

Buffalo will begin the 2021 season by hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers in what should be a great matchup to begin the season. In Week 5, the Bills will travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs, and that game could serve as a great measuring stick.

Finally, the two games against the New England Patriots should be key games to watch this season as Bill Belichick and his squad will be looking for some revenge.

Expectations in 2021

The Buffalo Bills will be the favorites to win the AFC East Division once again, but some division opponents should be much better. Buffalo did nearly everything right in 2020, and it will be hard to duplicate that success with ease.

The Bills should win at least 12 games in 2021, and that will have them back as one of the top seeds in the AFC. An appearance in the AFC Championship Game could be in the cards for the Bills, but they still aren’t going to be good enough to get past the Kansas City Chiefs.
