After two weeks of NFL action, the league is starting to take shape and teams are quickly showing fans and bettors whether they are contenders or pretenders. This week we have a juicy matchup as the Miami Dolphins head to Sin CIty to play the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
The Dolphins are looking to forget about an absolute beat down by the Buffalo Bills last week after the Bills put the hammer down on the Phins 35-0. The Raiders on the other hand, are looking for their 3rd straight victory heading into Sunday afternoon.
Let’s analyze these teams in this week 3 matchup to help you determine the best bets for this game.
Miami Dolphins Betting Preview: Dolphins Lose Tua Tagovailoa
The Dolphins will have to prepare without Tua Tagovailoa after Head Coach Brian Flores announced that the team will move forward with Jacoby Brisset as the starter with Tua having suffered fractured ribs in the loss to the Bills last Sunday.
Miami’s offense ranks second to last in total offense, averaging an awful 238 yards per game. In the air, the offense is 29th in the league putting up 165 yards a game and isn't fairing much well on the ground ranking 27th with 73 yards per game. Be that as it may, the offense should not be underestimated. The Dolphins have young dynamic skill players like Jaylen Waddle, a new offensive coordinator, and superstar pass catchers in Devante Parker and Mike Gesicki.
Defensively, the Dolphins have always been historically strong. Miami ranks in the middle of the pack in total defense averaging 369 yards to opponents. They have been strong against quarterbacks allowing just 220 yards through the air, good for 12th in the league. The rush defense needs some help as they are allowing opponents to get 134 yards a game on the ground, but don’t allow a ton of points giving up almost 26 points per game.
Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview: Raiders Red Hot
The Raiders are off to a great start winning the first two games of the season against two of the toughest teams in the AFC, the Ravens, and the Steelers. Derek Carr in particular has been spectacular for the silver and black. Number 4 has thrown for 817 yards through just two games, the most of any quarterback through two games in franchise history to start a season.
Vegas’ offense has been nothing short of electric through the air, ranking 1st in total offense with 458 yards per game and 1st in passing with 391 yards per game, and 7th in points per game averaging almost 30. The rushing attack is a different story with Josh Jacobs banged up, the ground game has only produced 67 yards per game.
Defensively, the Raiders have flipped the script from their turnstile defense from last season. They are now giving their offense a chance to keep them in the game ranking in the middle of the pack in total, passing and rushing defense. They are also stingy in the red zone, ranking 8th in points per game allowed (22). Max Crosby has 2 sacks and needs just one sack to become the 8th player in franchise history with 20 sacks within the player's first three seasons.
Dolphins vs. Raiders Betting Odds & Lines

Free Betting Pick
After an ankle injury last week Derek Carr has been limited in practice. However, Jon Gruden said Carr will be a full go and for that reason, the Raiders will be dangerous. I can’t see any scenario where the Dolphins come into Allegiant Stadium and take a game from the Raiders and Raider Nation. Even against two top 10 defenses, Carr and the Raiders shredded them in the air. Expect more of the same come Sunday.
