The Square Pigeon’s Pipeline: NFL Week 7 Predictions

by Jason Belschner | October 22, 2020 |

This week features some pretty good games. It starts off rough with an NFC East matchup, and there is some crap sprinkled throughout Sunday. For the most part, it should be a good week. The lines are all on Follow me on twitter @jasonbelschner.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

What a terrible game to start the week. An amazing 2-9-1 record between these teams will make for a riveting telecast. This game might get a little interesting if Jalen Hurts plays. Unfortunately, Carson Wentz will continue to embarrass himself.

PICK: NEW YORK +4      UNDER 44.5

Detroit Lions at Atlanta Falcons

Dan Quinn is gone, and the Falcons manage to finish a game. I mean they still allowed 23 points in the second half, but it wasn’t enough for the Vikings to catch up. This week they host another NFC North team. The Lions are playing a ton better than the Vikings. Even so, the Falcons should get another win this week.

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals

The Browns need to figure out how to win against good teams. They aren’t even competitive. The Ravens and Steelers absolutely smacked the taste out of Cleveland’s mouth. Good thing for the Browns, Cincinnati isn’t that great. This is already the second meeting between these teams this season. Cleveland gets another win after taking last week off.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans

Two of the three final undefeated teams faceoff this week in a big game. While I think both of these teams are good, the Steelers haven’t faced a real team yet this season. The Giants, Broncos, Texans, Eagles, and Browns can’t even see the level that the Titans are playing on. Tennessee only being a one point favorite is a joke.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

The Saints are the easy pick here; however, it might not be that easy. Carolina struggled last week against the Bears. They lost their three-game winning streak against a decent team. New Orleans had the week off which they really needed. I like the Saints to win. They won’t cover.

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

Buffalo didn’t look good on Monday against the Chiefs, but there aren’t many teams who look good against Andy Reid’s team. This week they get to rebound against the worst team in the league. The Jets are awful across all aspects. How did Joe Flacco get so bad?

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins

Can we just cancel this game? Does anyone want to watch it? Andy Dalton versus Kyle Allen wouldn’t even make an interesting college game. I don’t even want to talk about it.

Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans

Houston pushed the Titans to the limit last week. Another case of a head coach holding their team back. I don’t know about that. I’d guess Houston didn’t want to play for Bill O’Brien when he shipped off DeAndre Hopkins. It’s too bad they get an angry Packers team who are looking for a bounce back.

Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals

This game will be interesting for sure. The Cardinals always manage to make it a game against Seattle. This year, they are actually playing good in most of their games. The Seahawks still have arguably the best quarterback this season, Russell Wilson. He will find a way to win.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

The Chiefs got after the Bills to make up for dropping that game to the Raiders. Now they get another chance to take down a divisional opponent. The Broncos looked good last week against the Patriots.  With Drew Lock under center, Denver is a very different team. They still won’t be good enough for the Chiefs.

PICK: KANSAS CITY -9.5     OVER 45.5

San Francisco 49ers at New England Patriots

This game is interesting. The Niners have been struggling util last week when they took down the Rams. New England played pretty good until Cam went out or when he came back last week. Let’s just pretend Newton will be good this week. New England will take away Kittle and limit Deebo Samuel. Jimmy G won’t be able to get this win.

PICK: NEW ENGLAND -2            UNDER 43.5

Jacksonville Jaguars at Los Angeles Chargers

I don’t understand the spread in this game. The Chargers should be the favorite but 7.5 points? The Chargers are without Austin Ekeler, and they haven’t won a game since week one. The Jags haven’t won since week one either. I don’t buy that Jacksonville is that much worse than a hobbled Chargers’ team.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are coming off a bye week, and the Bucs are coming off a destruction of the Packers. Tampa scored 38 unanswered points to get the win. The safe pick is to take the Bucs. Remember though, the Raiders upset the Chiefs in their last game. This could be a high scoring shootout.

Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Rams

Monday night gets a defensive matchup against two quietly successful teams. Not many people are talking about either of these teams, but with a combined record of 9-3, it might be the best Monday Night Football games of the season.

PICK: CHICAGO +6       UNDER 44.5
