Monday Night Football Matchup: New Orleans Saints vs. Kansas City Chiefs
We close out week 5 of the NFL tonight with a little Monday Night Football action. Tonight, the New Orleans Saints travel to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, to take on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.
The Saints enter this game with a record of 2-2. They started the season off with wins against Carolina and Dallas, both of which they scored 44 and 47 points, but then faded off with losses to Philadelphia and Atlanta, where they only scored a combined 36 points.
Both games against Atlanta and Philadelphia were decided by a field goal or less, making the Saints’ losses even more heartbreaking. They could realistically be undefeated for a Monday Night matchup with the Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs are one of only two undefeated teams in the NFL. The Minnesota Vikings took care of business yesterday, knocking off the New York Jets in London to remain undefeated, and now the Chiefs will look to do the same here at home against New Orleans.
While the Chiefs are 4-0 on the season SU and 3-1 ATS, those games did not come as blowouts, and they certainly were not easy victories. None of the four games came by more than a touchdown (7 points), but regardless, they still won in the end.
Things for the Chiefs went south last week, as they lost their best Wide Receiver in Rashee Rice. Rice suffered a knee injury and has been placed on injured reserve.
The Saints will also be without one of their star players as Taysom Hill is nursing a rib injury that will keep him in street clothes tonight.
Our friends over at Bookmaker have listed the home team, Kansas City Chiefs, as the 5.5-point favorite, with the total for the Over/Under line coming in at 43 points.
If you are looking for an edge from previous matchups, we find that Kansas City has beaten the Saints the past 3 games and dating back to 2008, they’ve won 3 of 4 SU. Now with that said, the Saints have been able to cover the spread in 50% of the games, going 2-2 ATS.
Interestingly enough, while these two teams have been known for their offenses, three of the four games have been played under the posted number, with the only game to go over being their last matchup in 2020.
This should end up being a decent game. If you are interested in our Premium Plays from this game, you can sign up now to receive 30-days of Premium Plays. For the month of October, our Premium Plays have gone 4-1 in the NFL and we have two plays for tonight!
Now, on to our Free Play. We’ve been hot with our free play but yesterday, we gave out a parlay and lost by a half point! Let’s put it behind us and get the win here tonight.
We’re going with Kareem Hunt (Kansas City) to go over 44.5 rushing yards. Last week was the first week we saw Hunt this season, and he looked good. He led the three running backs with 14 rushing attempts for 69 yards, compared to Samaje Perine’s 5 carries for 14 yards and Carson Steele’s 2 carries for 6 yards.
We expect to see much of the same tonight in this Monday Night Football contest and Hunt’s second game of the season. Play Hunt to go over 44.5 rushing yards!
