Monday Night Football Preview: Baltimore Ravens vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Baltimore Ravens will fly south to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, to take on the Tampa Bay Buccanneers in the first of two Monday Night Football games on Monday, October 21, 2024. This game is scheduled to kick off at approximately 8:15 PM ET and can be seen on ABC.

The oddsmakers at MYBOOKIE have made the Baltimore Ravens the surprising favorites in this game. The line is Baltimore -3.5, and the total for the over-under is set at 50 points.

Baltimore Ravens Preview

The Baltimore Ravens started the season by losing their first two games but have since bounced back strongly, winning four straight games and scoring at least 28 points in each of those games. They are fresh off a win last week over the Washington Commanders by the score of 30-23.

The Ravens rely heavily on their offense and their superb rushing attack. Their rushing offense is the best in the league, as is their overall offense. They rely on the playmaking of Lamar Jackson, the 2-time league MVP.

Jackson has thrown for over 1500 yards this season and has passed for 10 touchdowns. Lamar is equally dangerous with his legs, as he has run for another 400+ yards on the ground and two more touchdowns!

The other factor on the Ravens is leading rusher Derrick Henry, their offseason acquisition, who leads the league with 704 rushing yards. Between Henry and Jackson, Tampa Bay must find a way to either slow them down and keep pace with this high powered offense. Henry has scored a touchdown in every game this season!

Tampa Bay Bucs Preview

The Bucs have shown that they can score points and score them in bulk! Last week against the New Orleans Saints, they posted 51 points! As a matter of fact, the only two games that they didn’t score into the 30’s was against Denver and Detroit.

Every other game this year, they’ve scored 51, 30, 33 and 37 points, so if this game turns into a shootout, they will be well equipped to play that style of football.

They are led on the field by QB Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has thrown for nearly 1500 yards and leads the league in touchdowns with 15. He has a plethora of targets to include Wide Receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, along with TE Cade Otton. This trio leads the Bucs in receiving.

The Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Bucs have played each other 5 times dating back to 2006 and the Ravens are 5-0 SU in those games. They have dominated the series vs. Tampa Bay with the latest coming in 2022, where they won 27-22 in Tampa.

Additionally, Lamar owns the NFC! He is 22-1 in his career against teams from the NFC but this line is definitely suspect. That half point is HUGE in this game. If it is -3, we probably pass on the game but 3.5, we think you have to take the home dog primetime money! Give us the TB Bucs +3.5 here!
