NFC Divisional Playoffs Preview: Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles

NFC Divisional Playoffs: LA Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles

For the second time this year, the Philadelphia Eagles and LA Rams will meet up, this time in the NFC Divisional Playoffs! This game will take place on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 with the kickoff scheduled to take place at 3:00 PM from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.

Our friends over at BetOnline have set the line for this game at Philadelphia -6 and the total sitting at 44.

Philadelphia Eagles Preview

The Eagles advanced to the Divisional Round by knocking off the Green Bay Packers, winning by the score of 22-10. The Eagles never trailed in the game, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and not allowing a point from the Packers until the 3rd quarter.

Jalen Hurts didn’t have a spectacular day passing but regardless they got the win. He went 13 for 21 for 131 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. This was the first game back for Hurts after entering concussion protocol. He did not show any signs of lingering issues and we expect he will be asked to do a little more this week.

The defense was strout on Sunday as they shut down GB QB Jordan Love and the Packers offense. One thing to keep an eye on this week is Linebacker Nakobe Dean. Dean suffered a knee injury in the 2nd quarter of the game with the Packers and did not return. It’s now being said that he has a torn patellar tendon in his knee and will miss the rest of the playoffs.

Los Angeles Rams Preview

The LA Rams advanced to the Divisional Round by knocking off the Minnesota Vikings. The Rams won the game 27-9, with a strong defense rising to the occasion and limiting the Vikings to just 9 points.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford went 19 for 27 for 209 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. His leading receiver was Tyler Higbee, Rams Tight End, who caught all 5 passes that were thrown his way for 58 yards.

Both Kyren Williams and Davis Allen caught touchdown passes from Stafford to lead the Rams over the Vikes.

Previous Matchup This Season

The Eagles and Rams played each other earlier this season, with the Eagles dominating the Rams 37-20. In that game, the Rams has no answer from Eagles Running Back Saquan Barkley, who rushed 26 times for 255 yards. Jalen Hurts didn’t really need to do much, passing for 179 yards and a touchdown.  The Rams will have to eliminate those long runs by Barkley, which in this game were of 70 and 72 yards.

Handicapping Pick and Preview

A lot of people are going to look at that first game and think that this is a solid over but we disagree. We think both teams focus on defense and keep this one a low scoring affair. Expect both rushing attacks to get a heavy dose of carries and drain this clock. We are taking the under here in a much lower scoring game then the first time these two played. It’s going to be cold in Phily and the under will cash! Play it at BetOnline where you get the extra half point!

Pick: Under 44
