NFL Preview: Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks
The Chicago Bears will host the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, December 26, 2024, with the kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Seahawks are 3.5 point favorites in this game with the total set at 42 points over at BetAnySports.
The Bears are already eliminated from any shot at the playoffs but the Seahawks are still fighting for a spot. They are currently on the outise looking in but still have life left in them. They are in the 9 hole with the top 7 teams making it to the postseason.
Chicago Bears Preview
The Chicago Bears are without a Head Coach and without any hope! They are playing terrible football and simply are not very good. The Offensive Line is a disaster and fails to give time to their rookie QB Caleb Williams.
The Bears offense is reanked 31st in the league, averaging 294.5 yards per game. The defense really isn’t much better, ranking 26th in the league allowed 359.3 yards per game, which is a tough number to win football games at.
Call it irony but former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll expressed his interest in the head coaching position here in Chicago for 2025. Carroll is still technically employed by Seattle but has not been a part of team environment in quite some time.
Only time will tell if the Chicago Bears organization gives Carroll a shot or if they will move on to someone else.
Seattle Seahawks Preview
The Seattle Seahawks enter this game with a record of 8-7. As we said earlier, they are sitting in the 9 hole but only behind Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Commanders for the 7 and 8 spot.
The Seahawks passing offense is very good. They are ranked 3rd in the league behind QB Geno Smith. Smith has thrown for 3937 yards with 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Seahawks are coming off back-to-back losses to Minnesota and Green Bay. The Minnesota loss was a heart-breaking loss, falling 24-27, while the Green Bay Sunday Night Game was a dominating performance by the Packers, 30-13.
The Seahawks have been very strong on the road. They have gone 5-1 this year on the road, where they are on Thursday when they face the Bears.
Handicapping Preview
The Chicago Bears are not very good and one has to ask themselves what they have to benefit from leaving in QB Williams. This kid is learning how to lose and that isn’t good for anyone!
Seattle has some injuries at RB but regardless, their passing ability will keep them in this game. They have more to play for and have the postseason on their radar. If they win today, which they should, they will have 10-days to prepare for their final game of the season against the LA Rams.
Take the Seahawks here -3.5 on the road!
