The Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames have had an interesting series thus far as they gear up for Game 6 on Thursday. After a full day’s rest, the two teams will play a late game at 10:30PM ET inside the Edmonton bubble. The game will be televised on NBCSN.
The Calgary Flames were able to get off to a 2-1 series lead through three games, but allowed the Dallas Stars to win the last two games. Now, Dallas controls the series with a 3-2 lead and has the opportunity to send Calgary home with a win on Thursday.
If the Flames can step out with a victory in this one, they’ll force a Game 7 in their opening series. With half the opening series inside the NHL bubble now complete, the Flames can be the first team to give fans a taste of Game 7 action.
Can the Dallas Stars Deliver the Knockout Punch?
The Dallas Stars have to do without their starting goaltender Ben Bishop, who hasn’t played the last three games. Anton Khudobin will get his fourth straight start and search for his third straight victory on Thursday. He has compiled 85 saves and let in 7 goals in the past three games.
Dallas has had no problem in the third period the past two games. In Game 4, they were down 4-3 before Joe Pavelski forced overtime with a hat trick goal. They then won the game in overtime. Game 5 saw Dallas tied 1-1 in the third, but a goal by John Klingberg in the third led them to victory.
Will the Calgary Flames Force a Game 7?
The Calgary Flames have already won two games against the Stars this series and will desperately be fighting for their third on Thursday. It’s do or go home for them, so they’ll have to give it everything they have if they want to stay alive.
One of the things they can work on is holding on to their leads. It seems like Dallas always has an answer for them, even if it comes late in the game. Since Dallas never lets them ourselves out of a game, Calgary will have to fight in this one.
Dallas Stars vs. Calgary Flames Betting Lines

What’s Our Pick?
The Dallas Stars are rolling right now, though these past two games have been a little too close for comfort. The two teams came into this series with similar records and they’ve proven to be a solid matchup thus far.
I don’t see Dallas having any trouble in this one. I think their offense is going to be too overpowering for the Flames to overcome. An early start would help Calgary, but I think it’ll be Dallas to strike first and maintain a lead throughout the game.
Final Score 2-1, Dallas Stars.
