Winnipeg Jets Betting Preview
The Jets were able to break their two game losing streak with a 6-3 performance over the Florida Panthers. Mark Scheifele stood out with his performance and even landed a hat trick, making his ninth career.
Scheifele had three goals while Morgan Barron had two of his own to lead the offensive attack. With the Jets getting an early 2-0 lead to start the game, it was essentially over from that point on.
The Jets recorded 27 shots and allowed the Panthers to get off 23. While there was not a huge gap here, the Jets clearly found better opportunities to score. Holding the Panthers to 23 shots was also an appealing stat.
The Jets are averaging 4.21 goals a game and firing off 30.5 shots each time. Their defense has allowed 2.42 goals and 29.2 shots from opposing teams. This is a great margin of safety and shows why they are one of the best teams in the league.
Pittsburgh Penguins Betting Preview
The Penguins are back on the losing side after a 3-2 overtime defeat against the Tampa Bay Lightning. They were up 2-0 heading into the third period before the Lightning stormed back.
Jesse Puljujarvi landed one of their goals, as he was able to get them on the board first. He will need to find a way to get the offense moving against the Jets if they want any chances of winning.
The Lightning were clearly more aggressive on offense, as they had 35 shots compared to the Penguins’ 19. If they allow the Jets to get that many opportunities, this could be bad early.
The Penguins are producing 2.67 goals and 30.7 shots per game. Their defense has allowed 3.86 goals and 32.9 shot attempts from opponents per game. This is a negative ratio that will certainly hurt them moving forward.

MyBookie showcases the NHL betting odds for the Winnipeg Jets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins showdown. Odds currently reflect the Jets as favorites, especially after winning their first encounter with the Penguins back in October with a 6-3 finish.
The Penguins are 4-4-2 at home while the Jets are 7-2-0 away. Weak performances lately by the Penguins have been difficult to gauge, especially since they have had two losses in the last five games being decided by one goal. Look for the Jets to find success on the road.
