BetDSI has the North Carolina Tar Heels favored by 5 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. North Carolina is one of the best programs in college basketball and have one of the best coaches in college basketball history in Roy Williams. They are ranked 20th in college basketball, but have gotten off to a mediocre start by their standard. Notre Dame has quickly become one of the better programs in college basketball as well and they have started off the season strong, but are not ranked. Let’s take a closer look at these two teams and we’ll start with the underdog Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame is 13-4 SU and 6-7 ATS. Notre Dame has started the season strong going 13-4 that includes a 3-1 conference record and an RPI of 38. They have an impressive win over Wichita State, but a blowout loss against Michigan State and a bad loss to Georgia Tech on the road by a score of 53-60 earlier this week.

Bonzie Colson leads the team in scoring, rebounds, steals and blocks with 299 points, 145 rebounds, 28 steals and 33 blocks. Matt Farrell leads the team in assists with 76. Notre Dame is averaging 78.24 points per game which is above the 73.72 average for the rest of college basketball. The Fighting Irish are allowing 63.88 points per game which is below the 73.72 average for the rest of college basketball.

Notre Dame wins at home in an upset against North Carolina

Both of these teams should contend for the ACC championship and both have good and experienced teams that could make a deep run during March Madness. I like Notre Dame at home in this matchup as Notre Dame is one of the better teams at home. North Carolina has also struggled this season against better teams and I don’t think this game will be any different. I look for Notre Dame to win this game outright, but I do feel more confident getting the points in this game. Make sure to bet this match-up on BetDSI.

Pick: Notre Dame +5 for 2 units
