Tom Brady is my favorite athlete of all time, so of course I was excited when I heard that he recently played at an online poker tournament for charity.
It was the All-In for America Celebrity Poker Tournament at Americas Cardroom. Unfortunately, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Bill Belichick were not there, but the tourney raised huge money for Covid-19 relief, including a $1 Million donation alone from Americas Cardroom.
Some of the other celebrities who played were Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Adam Sandler, Tobey Maguire, Jon Hamm, Bryan Cranston and Sarah Silverman.
While that tournament was Americas Cardroom April highlight, the US-facing poker site is not slowing down in May. They’re celebrating the 1-year anniversary of their software release with a May Millions Celebration.
Here’s how the promo works. There are three $1 Million GTD tourneys every Sunday in May (each is a multi-day event). That’s $15 Million total, 50% of the $30 Million in May tourney guarantees.
Here’s more details:
- $265 buy-in. Day 1 on Sunday and Day 2 on Monday.
- $2,650 buy-in. Day 1 Sunday and Day 2 on Monday.
- $109 buy-in. Day 1 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Day 2 on Monday.
The $2,650 buy-in is for high rollers, but the two other tourneys are very affordable for most players. And the $109 buy-in with five Day 1’s means everyone can carve out time in their schedule.
It’s been a busy time for the U.S. facing site who have come off three back-to-back-to-back tournament series while hosting two celebrity charity poker tournaments to provide a platform to raise millions in donations for those effected by COVID-19.
With the world stuck at home, player traffic is seeing all-time highs and the sheer number of new players coming to the site is encouraging for the online poker industry.
