Americas Cardroom Outperforms PokerStars with $1.3 Million Dollar Sunday
The Million Dollar Sunday at Americas Cardroom saw its biggest prize pool ever for a total of $1,372,000!
The US-friendly online poker site hosted last night the biggest online poker tournament available in yesterday's Sunday roster. The Million Dollar Sunday at Americas Cardroom saw its biggest prize pool ever for a total of $1,372,000. And just to put that into perspective, PokerStars' Sunday Million was only $1,078,400.
The growing online poker community at Americas Cardroom confirmed yesterday what many of us have been reporting over the last few months. Winning Poker Network is doing things right and players are starting to notice. Seeing a prize pool $300,000 bigger than the world's #1 is truly an accomplishment. Their Million Dollar Sunday last night was the final event in the Online Super Series with $5.7 Million in guarantees (April 9th – May 7th).
The tournament paid 405 places yesterday with a 4-way final table deal that awarded all players with over $140,000. Player ‘PokerTrader77‘ came on top with a prize of $166,061. Second place was ‘Oldflat‘ ($141,048), then ‘BuckBlucka‘ ($150,543) and finally player ‘RiskedUnderO‘ ($141,089). The winner of the event (PokerTrader77) also won a sterling silver bracelet courtesy of WPN.
Americas Cardroom has fought hard to bring poker back to the online community and this tournament is without a doubt a huge milestone for the company. Winning Poker Network started their Million Dollar Sunday tournaments in February of 2015, they experienced big overlays at the beginning but finally, all that hard work seems to be paying off.
This is exactly what Phil Nagy, WPN CEO, said to us in a recent conversation. “This is now way too easy” when referring to the challenge of covering the $1 Million guaranteed tournaments. According to him, what is next on the list is big improvements to their software and more challenging promotions that will be announced over the next few weeks.
Final Stage of the OSS Cub3d
OSS Cub3d culminates with a series of 17 events aimed at high stakes poker players. The Bigger Online Super Series (BOSS) kicks off May 3rd and finishes on May 7th with the BOSS Main Event, a $750,000 Texas Hold'em tournament with a buy-in of $2,000+$100 at 4:00 pm ET.
Exceeding the guarantee for every single tournament has been the trend for all OSS Cub3d events.
