Serie A Predictions, Odds & Best Bets: Saturday Picks for September 5, 2026
Well, well, well, after last Sunday’s Premier League card produced a solid 3-0-1 record from our four Best Bets and five winners from six settled selections overall, SpookyExpress.com‘s attention now turns to another part of Europe – Italy. The Serie A’s official schedule serves up Fiorentina vs Torino, defending champions Inter against 2025 Scudetto winners Napoli, and AS Roma vs Atalanta on Saturday, before Sunday’s heavyweight Juventus vs AC Milan rivalry adds further spice to Round 3.
It’s important to note – all prices in our article were available at EveryGame at the time of writing (September 4, before noun). Odds can move, so always check the number before placing a wager.
Fiorentina vs Torino
Betting Odds: Fiorentina -118 | Draw +210 | Torino +350
Saturday’s opener represents a meeting between two teams still looking for their first point, although Fiorentina’s start has been considerably more alarming. Fabio Grosso’s side followed a 4-0 defeat at AS Roma with a 3-0 home loss to newly-promoted Frosinone, leaving the Viola bottom of the table with no goals scored and seven conceded just after the club’s 100th anniversary. The official Serie A stats also note that Fiorentina have spent a league-high 147 minutes behind and are now 231 league minutes without a goal. Of course, the Frosinone scoreline may have exaggerated the gap between the sides, but missed opportunities cannot disguize Fiorentina’s current vulnerability after they finished 15th in 2025/26.
The arrival of Beto from Everton gives Grosso another centre-forward, yet a heavily reconstructed team still appears short of chemistry and defensive stability.
Torino may also be pointless, but their league results have been significantly more competitive. The 2-1 opening defeat against Abate’s boyhood club AC Milan (a game we thoroughly previewed here) was followed by another narrow 2-1 loss at the hands of Sassuolo, with Il Toro finding the net in both matches. Tuesday’s 1-0 Coppa Italia elimination against Monza was a setback, but recent H2H history strengthens their case in Florence: the last three league meetings finished level, while Fiorentina have won only one of the last five.
Torino’s wider away record remains a concern, yet we believe there is more potential in Abate’s squad than the early standings suggests. Despite the two heavy defeats, Fiorentina are being asked to carry a favorite’s price at the Artemio Franchi, and this looks like a difficult spot in which to assume an immediate transformation.
Moreover, with the draw working in our favor, Torino have enough quality and attacking threat to avoid defeat at the Franchi.
Fiorentina vs Torino Best Bet: Double Chance – Torino or Draw (X2) -119
Inter Milan vs Napoli
Odds: Inter Milan -167 | Draw +265 | Napoli +400
Inter have begun their Scudetto defense with maximum points, beating Monza 4-1 before controlling a 1-0 victory at Cagliari. Cristian Chivu is not expected to abandon the well-proven 3-5-2 system, although several changes remain possible. Italian projections favor the returning Yann Bisseck at the rearguard, with new signing John Stones potentially starting on the bench.
Elsewhere, Andy Diouf should return on the right flank, while former Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski is favored over Petar Sucic and summer arrival Curtis Jones in the middle of the park. Pio Esposito also has a strong chance of retaining his place alongside Lautaro Martínez, particularly with Marcus Thuram still working towards full fitness.
Napoli head to San Siro seeking an immediate response to last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat against Como. Massimiliano Allegri has selection headaches of his own after Scott McTominay was sidelined by a health issue. Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne could replace him alongside Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka, although Antonio Vergara remains a genuine contender for that midfield place. Options are also limited at the back, where new signing Benoît Badiashile is not yet considered ready to start. Napoli nevertheless have reason to believe: they are unbeaten in five league H2Hs (four draws), while Allegri’s Milan defeated Chivu’s Inter twice last season, both times by a 1-0 scoreline.
Both teams scored in each of the last five league meetings, and Inter’s attacking process has been among the strongest in Serie A during the opening fortnight. All in all, Chivu’s men have scored in 14 consecutive competitive fixtures, while Napoli possess enough quality to expose a defense that almost conceded a late equalizer in Sardinia last time out. Over 2.5 Goals remains our best bet, with an Inter victory alongside BTTS providing the higher-risk value pick for the second Serie A clash on Saturday.
Inter Milan vs Napoli Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals -105
Value Bet: Inter Milan to Win and Both Teams to Score – Yes +250
AS Roma vs Atalanta
Odds: AS Roma -154 | Draw +265 | Atalanta +360
АС Roma have made a promising early statement by thumping Fiorentina and Lecce by identical 4-0 score, with Dutch striker Donyell Malen already bagging an insane five league goals. The Giallorossi would love to claim a fourth Serie A title, and their first since 2000/01, and the current squad is beginning to hint at enormous potential under Gian Piero Gasperini. Indeed, Roma have collected eight wins and one draw from their last nine top-flight games across the two seasons, keeping seven clean sheets, while they have found the net in 19 consecutive competitive games.
Atalanta, on the other hand, have also won their opening two Serie A matches, but Maurizio Sarri’s team have not been nearly as convincing. They beat Sassuolo 2-1 before requiring Lazar Samardzic’s 96th-minute strike to overcome Bologna 1-0 (both matches were in Bergamo), having already allowed 38 shots across those two fixtures.
And if there is one boss who should perfectly understand how to defeat Atalanta, it is Gasperini. He created the modern version of this team over nine years, knows many of its key players intimately and should recognize where AS Roma’s aggressive press can trouble Sarri’s developing four-man defensive system. Atalanta’s eight-match unbeaten run (winning six of the meetings) in this H2H demands respect, though, but the balance of power could finally be shifting?
On the evidence of the opening fortnight, the Giallorossi deserve to be discussed as genuine Scudetto contenders rather than merely Champions League hopefuls. The 1X component protects against Atalanta’s undeniable potential and outstanding recent record in this tie, while La Dea’s defensive workload and Roma’s explosive attack create a realistic high-scoring path beyond 2.5 goals. First-Half Over 1.5 remains the more aggressive value play at +190, but Roma have already shown how quickly they can take control of matches.
AS Roma vs Atalanta Best Bet: Roma or Draw (1X) and Over 2.5 Goals +130
Value Pick: First-Half Goals – Over 1.5 +190
