With just five races remaining before the Cup Series Playoffs, time is short for the drivers hoping to qualify on points alone. Last week’s surprise victory by Kurt Busch at Atlanta, where he edged out little brother Kyle Busch to claim his first win of the season, punched his ticket for the playoffs.
The upset victory by Busch, which paid up to +3500, did more than reward the longshot bettors for the final race of the year in Atlanta. It brings the total number of winning drivers this season to 12, leaving just four more postseason spots and a number of drivers right on the playoff bubble as the Series heads to New Hampshire.
Favorites to Win Foxwoods Resort Casino 301
- Kyle Larson (+350)
- Kyle Busch (+550)
- Denny Hamlin (+600)
- Martin Truex, Jr. (+650)
- Chase Elliott (+800)
- Brad Keselowski (+900)
- William Byron (+1000)
- Kevin Harvick (+1100)
- Joey Logano (+1200)
- Alex Bowman (+1200)
- Kyle Larson
MyBookie has Kyle Larson as the favorite even though he is in the midst of his longest winless streak since May. More problematic than his lack of wins in his three-race streak where he hasn’t led a single lap. He’s also never won in New Hampshire and considering that he comes with the lowest potential payout, Larson makes for a risky bet.
Kyle Busch is on the pole in New Hampshire and is listed as the second-highest betting favorite. Busch is third in the standings, with three career wins in New Hampshire, and over the last four races, he’s finished 2nd, 1st, 3rd, and 2nd.
Denny Hamlin does not have a win this season, but he is currently the Cup Series points leader, and unless four new winners emerge at the end of the regular season, he will get into the playoffs. He ranks second in the Series in both laps led (770) and top-five finishes (11), and there’s a good chance his winless string is broken before the season’s end.
Kevin Harvick is also winless this season, following his nine-win season in 2020. He’s in the playoffs if the season ended today, currently ranked ninth in points – ranking him second among drivers without a win. But he’s much less of a sure thing than Hamlin and would like to secure a win in the next month.

Brad Keselowski is the defending champion of the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301, and Kevin Harvick won the two races before that. Both drivers are great in New Hampshire – Keselowski has two wins and eight top-fives, Harvick has four wins and has finished in the top-five in seven of the last nine races.
Either driver could win on Sunday, but with Harvick paying more at +1100, he is the better bet. He had two top-10 finishes during the weekend in the Poconos, he finished fifth in Nashville, and he finally gets back into victory lane this weekend in New Hampshire.
