Things slow down a little for the NASCAR circuit this weekend, as the Monster Energy Series will only race one time this week. That one race will be held at the historical Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as the state of Indiana will welcome the drivers and their teams for the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 this Sunday.
Let’s take a look at some of the betting favorites and some sleepers for this Sunday’s big race in Indianapolis.
Kevin Harvick +400
What a season it has been for Harvick. With three wins on the season, and coming off of a victory last Saturday at Pocono, Harvick is on a roll. Harvick has had a great deal of success at Indianapolis. With two wins here, including one last season, he knows how to tame the Brickyard. In his last five starts here, he hasn’t finished lower than 6th.
Kyle Busch +500
Busch has two career victories at Indy. In three of the last six races here, he has finished first or second. He has led laps in four of his last five starts here, so that is a good sign. Busch has traditionally run well at Indianapolis, so look for him to continue that trend.
Brad Keselowski +650
Although his day ended early last season after a wreck, Keselowski won here in 2018, and was the runner-up in 2017. In four of his last five races here, he has led at least 10 laps, so he knows how to run at Indianapolis. He has a good shot at a top-five finish on Sunday.
Martin Truex Jr. +1,100
Truex Jr. has had good cars at Indy, but he’s been cursed with some bad luck. Although he hasn’t finished inside the top 25 in his last three starts here, we’re looking for him to change his luck this weekend.
Clint Bowyer +2,200
Bowyer has always been a contender at the Brickyard. With top five finishes in his last two starts here, along with four top fives, and five top 10 finishes, Bowyer knows how things work at Indy. Bowyer has had an up-and-down season in 2020, he’s looking for this Sunday to be one of the “ups”.
William Byron +2,200
With only two races under his belt, Byron has raced well at Indianapolis. After finishing 18th in 2018, he finished fourth in 2019. Byron could sneak up on everyone and make a run at the checkered flag. He’d love to “kiss the bricks” in victory lane on Sunday.
