It’s vacation season, so why not take a trip to Homestead, Florida? The NASCAR drivers and their crews won’t be having a vacation on Sunday, as the hot weather and the sunny conditions will make for a difficult day at the Dixie Vodka 400 at the Homestead-Miami Raceway.
The Homestead-Miami Raceway normally hosted this race in November, so the conditions will be quite different.
Between the heat, sun, and the potential for a slick track, there could be a lot of issues on Sunday.Let’s take a look at some betting favorites, along with a long shot or two that could earn you some cash!
Kevin Harvick +400
Harvick has been the best driver this season. He has two victories and 10 top-10 finishes thus far. Homestead has also been very good to him, as he’s finished in the top four every time he’s raced here.
Chase Elliott +700
Elliott has a victory on the season, and has raced well all season. In his four career starts at Homestead, he has never finished lower than 15th. In four of his last five starts this season, he has finished inside the top 10.
Joey Logano + 750
Logano finished fourth Wednesday night at Martinsville. He’s finished in the top 10 in three of his last four starts. Logano and Homestead go well together, as he has finished in the top 10 in his last five starts here. He won here in 2018, and would love to get his second victory here on Sunday.
Denny Hamlin +1000
Hamlin has been the model of inconsistency this season. In his last six starts, he’s finished in the top five in three of them, while in the other three he’s finished outside of the top 15. Hamlin has won here twice in his career, and has finished in the top 10 in six of his last seven starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Clint Bowyer +2800
Bowyer has had an up-and-down season. In his last three races, he’s finished 2nd, 20th, and 17th. While his season hasn’t been very consistent, he has been consistently good at Homestead. He has finished in the top 10 eight times in his last 14 starts here.
Bubba Wallace +50000
Bubba Wallace is a big time long shot here on Sunday. While his “Black Lives Matter” car caught all of the headlines on Sunday, Wallace quietly had a good race and finished in 11th. He has been stepping it up as of late, finishing in the top 12 in two of his last three starts.
