With the NASCAR circuit getting back to it’s normal routine this week, we will see things slow down for the drivers and their crews. As was the case the last two weeks, where there were four races in an 11-day period, there will be no Wednesday race this week. The drivers will be able to get back into their Sunday routines, as this week’s stop takes them to the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
We’re going to take a look at some of the betting favorites, along with some dark horse picks for this Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500.
Kevin Harvick +500
Harvick is the favorite to take the checkered flag this Sunday at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has two career victories here, and has finished in the top-five in his last five starts at the 1.5 mile quad-oval. Harvick has raced well in 2020, finishing in the top-10 in all but one of his nine starts this season.
Martin Truex Jr. +900
Truex hasn’t been able to follow up on his spectacular 2019 season. He is winless on the 2020 season, and hasn’t finished in the top five in any of this season’s races. Truex has never won at Atlanta, but he finished fifth in 2018, and second in 2019. He’ll be a strong contender to take the checkered flag for the first time at Atlanta on Sunday
Kurt Busch +1600
Busch has won at Atlanta on three different occasions. He has also finished in the top 10 in eight of his last 10 starts here. Busch has three top-10 finishes this season, and would love nothing more than to finish at or near the top here on Sunday.
Jimmie Johnson +1800
Johnson has always enjoyed racing at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. He has five career victories here, with his last win coming in 2016. Johnson has finished in the top five here 14 different times, so this is a track that he’s very familiar with. Johnson would love to end his last race in Atlanta in victory lane.
Matt Kenseth +5000
Kenseth hasn’t had the return that he was hoping for. He only has one top-10 finish on the season, and is currently sitting in 32nd in the driver point standings. The good news is that three of the last four times that he has raced at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, he has finished in the top five. Sunday could be the day that Kenseth finally gets a shot at taking the checkered flag.
